Where do you buy pajamas for pre-teens/young teens?

DS is 10yo but very tall for his age. I usually buy John Lewis pajamas for him as they are soft and not too snug a fit (he has sensory issues with clothes). But they only go up to age 12 which is the size he is currently wearing. Where else can I get pajamas from for him?

I can't buy him pajamas from American companies (like Lands' End or Gap) as they are a skin-tight fit, I think it might be a requirement in the US for pajamas to be snug for safety reasons. They need to be jersey, with a soft waist, he won't wear crispy cotton.

H&M might be worth a look.

I understand where you're coming from. I'm really struggling to find 14yo DD some things like pyjamas and underwear at the moment.

All the shops seem to stop at an age that's too small or babyish for her but the adult sizes are way too big!

Pants in particular!

I buy from tesco/asda, etc although my 2 tend to sleep naked most of the time!

IntheYear2525 · 06/09/2014 22:01

I'll have a look at H&M, thanks.

I'm less keen on Tesco, although Asda are sometimes ok. I find they're the wrong texture for him, he likes the softness and thickness of the John Lewis PJs. Supermarket PJs tend to get baggy and saggy very quickly, and they are much thinner.

I have a 12 yr old ds and although he doesn't have sensory issues I find that he will fit in a small mans or an extra small mans pj's depending on shop. The only issue is they're more expensive.

Boden (johnnie B) or Next

IntheYear2525 · 06/09/2014 22:44

I hadn't thought of Johnnie B, I've had a look and they do flannel type trousers. I might buy a pair and see what he thinks, he wears both straight leg and long-john type bottoms but they have always been jersey.

Sainsbury pjs are the closet in thickness and texture to John Lewis, but I don't know what size they go up to. Also as you cannot buy online, they often don't hAve sizes in stock. Worth a wee look though. Also, try next maybe?

I get ds is sainsburys in a small mans. Jimmys don't tend to matter if too big.

Primark.

AuntieStella · 06/09/2014 23:01

I look on supermarkets for men's XS or S sizes. They have different weight fabrics at different times of year an the brushed cotton autumn/winter ones are softer than what you'll find in the summer.

Lounge pants from asda and any old tshirt round here

Bunbaker · 06/09/2014 23:05

Primark seem to be the only store that does pyjama bottoms with long enough legs for me and DD.
