Before the baby needs to sit up like a pushchair?

I used mine until they didn't fit in it any more!

Tutter · 21/09/2006 12:51

don't think they ever "need to" as such

but they'll get bored of staring at the sky / your chin

think i moved ds at about 5mo

LIZS · 21/09/2006 12:52

As a pram about 4 months , as a daytime or cocasional overnight bed until about 6 months for ds. In Europe they often keep them in carrycot part longer , until they can actually sit properly.

I've fallen for a pram, but dd is already nearly a month old. It does convert to a pushchair but it's prettier as a pram! Wondering if it will be a total waste.

FillyjonktheBananaEater · 21/09/2006 12:55

There is a woman round here who wheels her 2 yo around in a pram

with all the frilly blankets and everything.

And these size 6 shoes sticking out the bottom

lunavix · 21/09/2006 12:55

its the silvercross linear freeway in 'blossom'

It's so lovely, although it's still pretty big and I'm thinking of getting rid of my phil and teds cos of the size...

DS could sit unaided at 4 months. We had to change it over at that point as he was LIVID at the mere suggestion of lying flat on his back.

LIZS · 21/09/2006 13:08

Is it a separate carry cot or a seat unit which lies flat then becomes a pushchair. We had both for our Silver Cross and used the carrycot as below then at 4 months ish moved to the seat unit but the cosy toes and apron gave it a pram look even with the more upright seat back and it could face either way. Snug for winter imho.

FillyjonktheBananaEater · 21/09/2006 21:45

lol

does pee me off though...this 2 yo can do all sorts of fancy crap. he knows letters and everything.

Bozza · 21/09/2006 21:48

malory did you not try dropping subtle hints?

Actually think your DD sat there gazing would have been a fairly major hint.

Tatties · 21/09/2006 21:54

I turned ds around at 6mths, when he wanted to sit up and look around. I would have preferred him to still be facing me though.

CrocodileKate · 21/09/2006 21:58

Are you considering buying the seperate carrycot? Because the two you mention only show the pushchair laid flat with the canopy.
If that is what you like then you can just raise the back in the rearfacing position when the baby is a little older.
