A stupid question - how to avoid getting dents made by doors opening onto mine

Daft question which is impossible to answer ... how to avoid car door dents?

Ive now noticed 2 new dents on my driver door and driver side rear passenger. Its really got me down as i bough the car second hand 5 years ago and its bodywork was perfect. I had one dent a few years back from when someone let their car door clump onto mine (i presume) and now ive got 2 more.

Im so p*ssed off i cant afford to get the dents dealt with.

I park at the quiet ends of supermarkets, i take super care to not knock others etc ... there's nothing i can do to avoid this apart from never park anywhere other than my drive!

I don't think you can prevent them, as you acknowledge. But it might be worth googling "dent puller". A dent puller won't fix every dent, but it'll deal with some of them, at least.

Park in the middle of the parking space...

Accept that cars won't remain perfect for ever.....

The problem with "parking in the middle of the space" is that so many modern cars are so big, they totally fill the space. I say this as the owner of an S plated (um, 14,15 yo?) MX5 two-seater convertible... (Yes, it's my old age midlife, have to give up motorcycling, crisis car!)

sad fact is that many car parks have such narrow spaces that you can only rely on other peoples parking/driving skills
