need a new washing machine

Help, a disaster, my machine has packed up after 7 years hard slog! I have had it repaired three years running at around £70 a time. Now think although we are broke that maybe its throwing money away and time to get something else. Does anyone have a family size machine they would recommend, been told that you can get them with much bigger drums now and faster spin speed, mine is 4.5 and spins 1000. I do at least one load a day as i expect lots of you Mums do, any advice please and best places for prices?

I had a whirlpool and it lasted for a very very long time. I have a lot of whirlpool stuff and have got to say that its never given me any trouble. Have just bought a lovely, shiny, silver hotpoint aquarius with large load feature and lots of lovely buttons that do nice things. (Ok, i need to get out more)I dont know if hoover make washing machines but if they do dont even go there, my dryer has been a pain in the butt from day one.

Hi,
My secondhand one is coming today to tide me over thank goodness! WSM my friend in Cornwall recently bought an LG and she is very pleased with it, tells me it is American and the only snag may be in getting parts if there is a problem, would like to have a look at one, thanks all again, by the way, who needs Which when we have Mumsnet?

Oh help!
My secondhand one arrived yesterday and went straight back, very old and rusty! So am desperate to buy one now but getting very confused over them all, keep going back to a LG one I have seen in Currys for £389.
