Does anyone use one of these? Can anyone recommend them? We are going to Majorca on holiday with our 9 month old in May, and I'm not sure whether this would be of use, or if it would be a waste of money.
Any help would be appreciated.

Loved mine. Great for making it dark in the buggy too to encourage sleep! Plus it's nice not to blind the poor child when you have to push the buggy into the sun!
Reckon it's as essential as a raincover. Buy it!

I have a dd senstive to light so it was very useful for her, she just gets annoyed with it now as it coops her up but up to about 1yr it is prob better. Now we're finally getting her to accept sunhats but as soon as you go into shade she whips it off.
they are worth it for bugs as well, esp on holidays
Well worth th money and you can always re sell onwards to recoup

Think I used mine twice, been a bit of a waste of money.
It would be great for newborns, but mine were winter babies and by the time the summer came I found the sun canopies from M'care much more use.
But that is in the UK, you may appreciate it on holiday.

I was very pleased with ours for the reasons stated when in Greece (DS 9 weeks) and Mauritius (Ds 8 months), but I'm not sure you'll need on in Majorca in May. They HATE them when they get a bit older - can't see out etc, so it would have a short life.
On last holiday when we wanted to take DS (then 22 months) out in the evenings so that we could eat, we put his sunglasses on to make him think it was dark....

We had a holiday in Sydney in Dec/Jan. I noticed that nearly every stroller etc had one - I felt quite neglectful just using my sarong as I had done over here. I tracked one down at the local Target on sale. It is fab and I am sure I will get the use from it for many years to come - although I won't need it too often here in Germany - if this summer is like the last one though ... Blocks sun, bugs, but not air - he was very comfy with it and with the velcro it was very easy to pull back when we went into shops and he wanted to get a bit closer to the action. Must say that they ruin the ability to gaze on all the little cuties though (am a bit clucky ...).

I'm a big fan - though I think you have to use them from the outset if you want them to be accepted. Most of my friends here in NZ use them, and the ones that don't seem to spend all their walk messing about trying to keep a blanket in place. Here they cost the same as 3 bottles of suncream so I think I'm in profit now.
Got some really funny looks when I used it in the UK though - it was more about consistency than sunprotection.
