Anyone use a buggy/kiddyboard on a Mountain Buggy?

Have just about convinced myself to get a new Mountain Buggy Urban, but was wondering how well it would work with a buggyboard (kiddyboard)? I can't find any shops that sell both and would let me attach one.

Is there enough room for older child's head to fit between the handlebar and hood (I'm looking at getting the newer model with adjustable handlebar). DD will be 2yrs9mths when no.2 is born and is taller than average.

Was trying to visualise the set up in the shop and am a bit worried that DD would strangle herself!

sorry, im no help to you, but ill keep an eye on this thread as i have a MB and a dd that will be 2.1 when my new baby is born, hoping buggy boards do fit them.

I have this combination - it works pretty well i will tell yuo the problems I forsee you may have - but these are relatively minor - not dealbreakers I would think.

I bought the carrycot too and when dd2 was newborn this was a perfect combination. plenty of room to stand, height of carrycot not a problem etc. Really fantastic. When I switched to the seat the older childs space is quite compromised if the seat is in its fully reclined position. My ds was 2.11 when little was born and isn't very tall - he could only just see over the seat then. ON the whole its a great pushchair - I had an older model and got this new one to fit the buggy board (it doesn't go on the old models) and for the adjustable handle bar - not for height reasons but precisely to give more space for ds2's head.

I have 4 children and a bit of a pram habit - I think its as good as any i've tried or owned. MB can't really be beaten as a stand alone pushchair - and I really liked the fact that they endorse the buggy board. I also own a bugaboo which, don't tell anyone on here, but I also love - they make an older child board but I haven't tried it. please ask if you want to know more - pushchairs are sadly one of my favourite subjects

Seen them loads here (NZ) and they look fine.

Thanks all

Mrsapronstrings - don't be embarrassed, I also own a bugaboo but would trade this in if I bought a MB Urban

Which do you prefer - the MB or the bugaboo??!!

Oh, forgot to add, congrats lanismum on pregnancy I remember you contributing to my endless Qs about the MB a few months ago! Are you still happy with it??!!

amazonianwoman, yep, still very happy with it, its the best pram i have ever bought, i took it to the reading festival a couple of weeks ago and it coped fine, dd loves it as shes higher up, and its a dream to push. i wont be buying the carrycot for the new baby though, as i already have a mutsy with a carrycot so ill get some more use out of that for a while before i transfer baby over to the mb.
how long have you got till your new baby is born?
i have to say, you are the most indecisive buggy buyer ever
mrsapronstrings and threebob, thanks for the info, its good to know they definately fit.

amazonianwoman · 07/09/2006 13:12

Yep, definitely the most indecisive buggy buyer ever I guess it means that the bugaboo can't be that rubbish, otherwise the choice and comparison would be a no-brainer. In my defense, I feel it's better than working my way through loads of buggies to find the right one and losing money along the way

No.2 due next March, and DD has gone from being an ace walker to refusing to walk more than 5 metres, so at this rate I'll be starting posts about doubles haha

yes, you are very smart to research buggys before you buy them, unlike me that has 5 buggys around the house
im due mid april, so only a bit behind you, my dd lays on the floor if she feels shes walked too far, funny she never seems to run out of energy when shes running around in the park though.........hmmmmm

MrsApronstrings · 07/09/2006 14:37

I spent hours and hours indecisively mulling over single, double etc etc.

On balance I slightly prefer the bugaboo. I do think the mountain buggy is slightly easier to push. Also if my ds (just 4) needs a ride somewhere - it has to be the mb - I don't think he would really fit in the buggaboo, and I am not utterly convinced it would be as easy to steer/push with him in.

BUT...I really love dd2 being able to face me, to talk to her etc - and at 14 months she still finds this preferable to looking out. It is easier in town and generally in shops - the back wheels of the mb are quite wide and although it can swivel360 in its own space I often catch the back wheels on display stands.
DH prefers the mountain buggy.
