What can I get for a 1 year old who loves posting things?

Apart from the usual dull shape sorter type affair? Is there something unusual or special that anyone can think of, or just a beautifully made wooden toy which involves posting? A postbox with wooden letters to post would be really fab, or something like that?

oops, sorry, I thought it was for your ds

Does he like fitting things, or just posting? I have just bought ds2 a wooden Baboushka doll thing, it is gorgeous and really unusual

It is a girl, she is just 1, and she likes posting, but at that age I think those shape sorters are frustrating for them. If I could just find a wooden box with a slot to put stuff in I would be away.

What do you think of this ? It's sort of posting-esque

What about something like this ?

Another fab idea jabberwocky, but she still puts things in her mouth. I don't think she would be safe to play with the coins, unfortunately

I was thinking more along the line of putting in paper instead of coins. Of course, it would have to be sturdy, cardboard-like or she would just eat it. I think it would be appropriate to make some little "letters" to go along with it as the box is certainly not handmade

You have a point jabberwocky. You are all very ingenious you know.
