Any good film recommendations for nearly 3 year old twins, most appear to have too much complicated dialogue. I would be grateful of any suggestions.

For the cinema or video?

Ice Age is Fab

Finding Nemo is hilarious

My ds who is 2 in April will sit through both.

Tigger Movie?

marialuisa · 25/03/2004 15:07

If for at home try Monsters Inc., DD was given it for Xmas (nearly 3 then) and fell in love.

We saw Finding Nemo at the cinema but we were all bored stiff, it could easily have been 20 minutes shorter.

If you like Dr Seuss, cat in the Hat is out now.

hana · 25/03/2004 15:08

another vote for Finding Nemo. Has watched it countless times at my mum's place. (Not here of course!!)

prettycandles · 25/03/2004 15:30

ds adores the classic Winnie the Pooh film, will watch it over and over and over.

aloha · 25/03/2004 15:31

Mine likes Peter Pan - was uninterested in Nemo. Also Cinderella. We tell him the stories first and watch it with him to explain what is going on so the dialogue isn't so important.

collision · 25/03/2004 15:35

Have heard from others that Monsters Inc made some of their children a bit scared there were monsters under the bed!!

Ice Age is good because it is only about 1hr 20 mins long and is very funny.

Bugs Life?
Shrek?

Natt · 25/03/2004 15:38

Both of mine (3.5 and 20 mos) love Shrek and regularly pretend to be the characters. Also there is one about a polar bear and a seal they love but the name has esaped from my brain...

LIZS · 25/03/2004 15:38

dd loves any Winnie the Pooh - Tigger Movie and Piglet's Big Movie and the shorter ones are all hits. Tigger Movie was the first one ds saw at the cinema aged about 20 months and he was rivetted.

fio2 · 25/03/2004 15:38

mine like toy story 1 an 2, monsters inc, ioi dalmations 2 (the cartoony one) beauty and the beast

Yes, ds also loves that polar bear and seal one, but he watches it at my mum's so I can't remember the name either! Personally I think it's utter rubbish, but it's harmless.

Blu · 25/03/2004 15:45

DP took DS (2.5 at the time) to see Brother Bear, and he loved it - (tho' when I heard the story described it sounded a bit sophisticated, and involves someone dying - which DS doesn't deem to have cottoned on to)

collision · 25/03/2004 15:48

They all seem to involve someone dying ....will explain to ds when he is older as ATM we say they are sleeping. Nemo's wife dies and Muffasa in Lion King. Very sad.

katierocket · 25/03/2004 15:50

jungle book definitely - no dying!
winne the pooh grand adventure
nemo too complicated for DS (2.5) he loses interest.

Not lion king if your little darling is of a senstive disposition!

Thomcat · 25/03/2004 15:52

Aristocats.

bundle · 25/03/2004 15:53

the first ones we got were: dumbo, pinocchio, ice age, aristocats, then monsters inc, shrek

Kayleigh · 25/03/2004 15:55

And don't even think about Bambi
Even I can't watch that one.

hmb · 25/03/2004 15:59

ds has always prefered computer animated films to 'ordinary' animations.

gold123 · 25/03/2004 16:00

Mine like toy story 1 & 2, and Thomas and the Magic railroad. When they were younger Barney's Big Adventure was always a hit as there is singing and dancing in it.

spacemonkey · 25/03/2004 16:09

Both of mine adored the Disney Winnie the Pooh cartoons - they're not too long and very appealing to all ages really. Have been watched to death in this house!

CountessDracula · 25/03/2004 16:21

oh no not bambi I cry at the thought of it

Azure · 25/03/2004 16:30

Little Polar Bear is the bear & seal one. I find it almost unwatchable but DS (2.5) loves it. He also loves Jungle Book and 101 Dalmatians (cartoon version).

hmb · 25/03/2004 16:35

Pingu is a good choice, short films and no dialogue at all

supersonic · 25/03/2004 16:43

Sherk is a ure hit in our house and especially hte songs at the end - its so cute to see them dancing to it. Also the flintstones - my ds discovered thsi whilst at her Nans house and came home shouting yaba dabadoo - quite amusing!

fio2 · 25/03/2004 16:48

mine like The Bear and The Snowman too, but maybe wrong time of year - mine are still watching it though
