Some of you must have one, would you buy it again? Has it had any problems? Anyone heard anything about the seat tipping upside down with the child in it???

I know you must all be fed up of never ending search for a travel system, but.... help!!! LOL

NatalieJane · 02/09/2006 20:10

Hiya hun, how is it going?

Do you know if she has had any problems with it? I had heard only good things about it, and then one sales assistant (who I think is on very good commision from Jane, another make of pushchair) has said they have had nothing but problems with people returning their Buzz's. Don't want to spend all that money if we are likely to end up with problems!

Was there actually anything mechanically wrong with it? What didn't you like about it, if you don't mind me asking?!

I had one and sold it.
On several occasions when going over a bump or down a kerb, the seat tipped back to it's lowest recline position.Gave me a huge shock and was worried it may tip even further eventually.
I alos found it VERY wide when in shops etc-great to push and manoevre elsewhere though.

I have one, but wouldn't buy it again. DH says he would buy it again, but he doesn't use it every day. Never had any problems with the seat tipping.

PROS:
-Very compact and manuverable (I never found it too wide).
-Of all the pushchairs I've seen, DD can sit up the straightest. All the other buggies I have experience of let the baby slouch a bit more.
-Good in its role as travel system with the maxi cosi car seat.
-Windows in the hood mean that the baby can see even when the hood is up.

CONS:
-No space for shopping!!! We went for the look of the pushchair, little realising how much stuff we would need to carry. I look at cheaper, less-designer pushchairs with envy: oh for a shopping basket!
-Don't fall for the crap about 'one-handed unfolding' - yes, the frame unfolds with one hand, but you still need two hands to put the seat bit on. Plus the ease of unfolding has trapped both DH and my dad's hands in it, as it unexpectedly sprung open!
-Unless very regularly oiled, front wheel tends to stick in a sideways position on smooth floors, so you end up dragging it around supermarkets, or having to go round to the front of the pushchair to kick it back into position. Drives me insane!

I have one and only really use it at weekends. I like the fact that it is really easy to manoeuvre one-handed. I bought the shopping basket that goes underneath which isnt huge but is fine for me. I like the fact that it takes the maxi cosi car seat and that the main push chair seat can go either way round. Not sure how I would feel if I used it all day every day but for me it is fine .... and looks good too!

LaDiDaDi · 03/09/2006 17:41

I like mine overall but not sure i would buy it again:

Pros:
Looks good !
Easy to unfold.
I find it easy to put the car seat and carrycot bits on and off.
Quite light to push and steer.

Cons:
Shopping basket too small.
Accompanying change bag only useful if using the buzz as it clips on the frame but the handlefor carrying it with is rubbish.
My hand has got trapped in the frame when unfolding.
I find the wheelbase wider than expected when i look at the pram/car seat bit, I think this is why I sometimes get stuck as i misjudge the width, not sure if it really is wider than other makes/models.

I got mine from the glasgowpramcentre website and it was excellent serice and delivery and loads cheaper than mothercare.

I haven't yet used the seat bit but have it for when dd gets bigger.

poppiesmum · 03/09/2006 17:54

I have one and think it's great - no problems, although a shopping basket would be nice and the parasol attachments are like gold dust!

I also bought the carrycot for when dd was very small as she was born in Jan and felt that it would be warmer and more cosy for her. Now she's older I find it a good alrounder.

Also got it from the Glasgow Pram Centre (bought on line)- great prices and speedy delivery!

Thanks everyone, I think we have decided not to take the chance with it, have read some other review sites and it seems like half have had no problems and half have had quite a few problems.

Why is it so hard to find a decent travel system, that is lightwieght, isn't the size of a bus and that doesn't look like something from the 50's??!
