difficult one, would you like to get them something that they can "keep"(ornament, glassware etc)or something like a really good coffee maker or such like.Have a look in John Lewis they are usually good for inspiration!

How about a nice voucher so they can have a hotel break of their choice whenever they want.......it worked for me!!!! x

dinny · 02/09/2006 13:19

A piece of nice artwork? Bit tricky as personal taste, of course, but if you know her really well it would be a lovely gift.

lexiemum · 02/09/2006 19:51

Do they have a garden? What abotu a Magnolia tree? DH was making noises about getting me one and I really hope it's what I'm getting for my 40th, I think they're so beautiful. Crocus sell them and so do garden centres.

Just got some good friends a 'Tea at the Ritz' voucher from lastminute.com (£80) and a magazine sub to Empire for £36

dinny · 02/09/2006 20:01

www (hello!) - they do have a garden but don't think it's the right gift for them (I'd love a magnolia tree myself though!)

tea at the Ritz - what a nice idea, cheers.

Hi dinny! Tea at the Ritz sounds lovely. Can imagine a magnolia tree wouldn't suit everyone.

dinny · 02/09/2006 20:09

they also have a small garden and probably won't stay in their current place for a long time. we used to have a magnolia in our communal front garden of our old flat and I really miss it!

hope you get your birthday wish what a lovely dh to think of that.

What about a nice photo of the two of then in a really nice frame.
If they've lived together for a while do any of the things in their house need replacing?
e.g. cutlery, crockery. pans etc.

Do you ever shop on Price drop and Bid Tv??

You could get loads of things on there for £150 might be worth a look.

cazzybabs · 02/09/2006 22:04

I got a rose called wedding day which is a climber and has lovely white flowers.

But agree about the photo!

Gillian76 · 02/09/2006 22:05

Do they have a digi camera?

We bought one for my sister who got married last summer.

fattiemumma · 02/09/2006 22:07

Ditto Lexiemum's idea as that is exactly what i was going to suggest
