Second hand car, 'extras' don't work

Have discovered since taking delivery 3 days ago that a couple of bits on our new car don't work. Firstly the overhead DVD screen, second the rear parking sensors. I know it's our fault for not checking properly (mine for letting dh check if over alone!) but do we have any come back? The features were listed in the advert, bought from a dealer.
Not sure if it helps sway anything, but part of the deal was they fix our old car for mot retest. They left it late (waiting for new car to come back from manufacturers garage for fault) and hubby ended up doing to work so we didn't miss retest deadline. No compensation given.

I'm no lawyer, but surely if the dealer advertised that the car had these things, then they need to be working, so yes, under the Sale of Goods Act, you are entitled to insist they put it right.
Have a chat with the Trading Standards Team at your local Council to be more certain of your ground.

Make sure you have a copy of the advert, take a print or a screenshot if it's an online ad. I believe if it's advertised it should work.

I would think you probably have a case as long as it's not a cheap banger - thing is have you actually approached the dealer yet? Probably best to take a friendly approach at first, if their customer service is any good they should be happy to sort it without fuss.

Thanks. We printed off adverts etc. Hubby got the DVD working but the rear parking sensor is faulty, the pin is broken inside. Will get him to talk to the dealer.

Yes, dealer should fix these issues. Don't let them fob you off.
