I've been to a shop, looked at their website, and still don't understand why people rave about them!
(Following on the discount codes thread...)

Thanks to this thread I felt obliged to check their website out - I've now asked for their catalogue to be delivered and I can feel my bank account emptying as we speak...

katierocket · 22/03/2004 14:41

me too!
MN should be charging them for free publicity!

dinosaur · 22/03/2004 14:43

This is very positive publicity for them, isn't it? I think I'll have to check out their website too!

Carrie, Justine, Rachel - what about a mumsnetter discount???!!!!

Davros · 22/03/2004 16:50

prettycandles, don't know what the ketchup thing is called, I'll get my catalogue and have a look, I'm sure it was still in the last one.
I am in full support of an MN discount of course

I love lakeland. Everything you order is brill, honest. I ordered christmas sweets once for a party and everyone thought they were 'divine'. You just cant fail with them I'm afraid (from mrs unsnobby)

Davros · 22/03/2004 16:53

P.S. I'm scared of the bar. I just know I'll turn into Ena Sharples, in there every night moaning and giving out, pissed as a parrot on stout....

fio2 · 22/03/2004 17:00

Davros · 22/03/2004 19:30

Just remembered, I couldn't live without the can opener thingy that everyone else has starting copying (very angry and indignant emoticon)

Morgan · 22/03/2004 19:34

I love Lakeland too - without it my kitchen would be empty just about. My dh can never understand why i need so many gadgets but heh!! I too love the plastic bags in different sizes and their stainless steel cleaner is the best i've used and brings up the cooker a treat. Also the orange wooden floor cleaner is really good - you wdn't believe that i actually hate cleaning would you with all this enthusiasim. Also the liquorice is lovely. Good job i don't live too near a store really.

Morgan · 22/03/2004 19:36

I forgot to add that the burger maker is great too!! no one can ever believe that i've made my own burgers but they are so easy with the maker. Roll on bbq time!

Davros · 22/03/2004 19:40

I've already got a great burger maker - my husband! I DON'T cook, just as well

CountessDracula · 22/03/2004 19:47

Think they must put heroin in their packaging or something - you lot sound like a brainwashed cult!! I have never been to lakeland - I must look at their website

Do they sell tablecloths?

CountessDracula · 22/03/2004 19:51

OMG "Grapefruit Room Perfume"
"Decorative shelf liner" (it's so hideous AND made of pvc)

Sorry guys...

wilbur · 22/03/2004 19:58

Granted CD, Lakeland has its little old ladies/fussy decorators' side, but the kitchen stuff and storage stuff is excellent which is why I love it (one day my whole life will be in boxes and I won't have to deal with it any more ) Also they have quite a few recycled paper and plastic products (bin bags, underbed bags which I keep all the old baby clothes in, and so on) so it makes me feel green. Quick where's Michelle and her recycled hair? I feel an order coming on.

TW · 22/03/2004 20:01
