Hello gs. Years ago i bought a mothercare travel buggy which was incredibly cheap (about£15), lightweight and folds up very small. Its still going strong as a spare or taking on public transport. But there are some features which i do miss - the lack of front swivel wheels, no sunshade, seat doesn't recline, handles are quite low down so if you are tall check the height, so i would look out for the cheapest one with these features. Have a great trip.

Not cheap but quinny zapp is a conmpact folding buggy.

I would just go for a mothercare jive stroller - £35 each, reclining seats, swivel wheels.

or for extra comfort, a Maclaren - got ours for £65 in mothercare a few weeks ago.

I agree with the cheapest MacLaren available. We bought ours to fit into our very small car and its really useful for travel etc, plus has all the added extras such as rain-cover, shopping basket, swivel wheels... The only problem is that the wheels are quite small so off-road is rather difficult!

We have the zapp and its brill. Its small enought to fit into the hand luggage hold of the plane and is very easy to use. Priced around £120-£150 BUT I think you may be able to get a 2nd hand deal on ebay..??

Nursery and toys website are selling the mauve zapp for £105.

Another one for the Mothercare Jive stroller. Fantastic buy, got a LitafSeat2Go for it aswell and it's been transatlantic a few times now.

It depends on age of child, whether he/she needs it to doze off, etc.

I bought a Micralite a few months ago when a trip to Singapore loomed and I was going to be on my own with a nearly 4 year old and a 2 year old (and a bump!). It folds singlehandedly which means I can get the children to hold each others hands and mine and manage to fold it at the same time. Great when getting on buses, taxis, etc. Off road is great - we live up an unmade lane - and I can steer it one handed. Height wise it's good for both of us too - I'm 5'7, DH is 6'2.

It has been fab and well worth the £110 I paid for it new on ebay. DD has slept for 2 hours in it too, it's easy to push and DS (my big now 4 year old) can sit in it comfortably (and I can still push it!).

Did I mention I was really pleased with it?!

wow thanks for all the info. will look at weight of the micralite and compare with weight of maclaren volvo - which is very light at 3 something kg . thanks to all the responded

The Silvercross pop is fantastic too, especially as it reclines fully and comes in lots of lovely colours.
