Buggy boards, Kiddy boards and the Seat2Go

I am going through the process of looking at options for my 27 month old toddler to ride comfortably and happily with my 8 month old baby. At the moment we use an Aprica pushchair (Windsor Prestige I think) which has a reversible handle and a fairly wide step, and this has worked brilliantly as he stands on the step while the baby rides 'backwards' and they get to look at eachother..... But now the baby is not so small, I want to use a more compact pushchair and also my toddler gets kicked!!

I am looking at Maclaren pushchairs and am trying to find out whether these different ride-on boards will fit. Does anyone know? Also does anyone know how I can find out simply what specifications any pushchair will need to take any of these boards? (I know it's something to do with a back axle....)Also can anyone recommend any particular make/model of ride-on board?

Any advice appreciated!

the only help i can give is I had a seat2go which i found wonderful..they do have a website that gives details of which puchchairs they are combatible with & which they are deffinately not...i can't do links but believe the website was literally seat2go.com

there were some reported problems with the seat2go collasping under the weight of the child but they sorted this out with an extra part that now comes with it

We had a seat2go and personally I found it awful and yes it did break with DS1 on it.

We know have a Buggy Board and it's so much better. Both of them took a while to get used too, with bruised shins and ankles when you walk but the Buggy Board is much easier.

We've had ours quite awhile now and it still looks as good as new (if I scrape the mud off ), they have re-designed them since we got ours and I think the fixings are universal, you just choose whether you want normal lengths attachments or longer ones depending on the pram. I'm sure their website will let you know which you'll need.
cheeky rascals website

hope this helps.....can't quite believe I've managed to do a link......Hooooo-Rahhhh!

Thank you both! So one loves it and one hates it......... I think I'm just going to have to get one and try it out for myself - it's such a great idea.......

I used to stop people in the street who had buggy boards etc before I bought one - to ask their opinions!! (apologies if this was anyone here!). I got a buggy board - and love it! The double pushchair has been in the garage ever since.

You do have to get used to it being in the way of your feet, and so going downhill can be a bit of a problem! I usually end up holding on from the side.

The fittings were changed on them a couple of years ago, so that there are so many combinations of arm length & angle that they will fit most pushchairs. I did get info off the web for this, but I can't remember which website, unfortunately. Just do a search on buggy board.

The Kiddiboard is for if you have a big back axle on your pushchair - I don't know much more about them than that.

Yes, the buggyboard is fab (and surely much better than a double). We got one 2 years ago and it fitted fine onto our McClaren umbrella fold pushchair. Agree that it needs a bit of practice to walk with but I found it fine (best with lower-heeled shoes!). DH is taller/longer strides and found it more tricky but eventually OK. As Tetley says they have changed the style now so it will even fit on some three-wheelers if that's what you have/want. Our McClaren broke (! well we had had it almost 4 years)and we bought a 3-wheeler plus new-style buggyboard as the old one wouldn't fit and this is very successful. Mind you it's got a flat tyre now but that's another story... Kiddieboard is to fit on to a pram which I think is not what you want Sonya. Hope this is helpful.

we have got a buggy board on an umbrella fold pushchair, its great - wondering now if it will fit to the maclaren major!!

Had a seat2go but it was useless on an umbrella fold and on my pram. Great idea in theory though
