Phil & Teds - Cocoon - do you recommend it?

I was very happy with my Phil & Teds, and am now lending it to a friend who is expecting her third child very soon - she will then have a 4, 2 and 0 year-old. I never had the Cocoon because my baby was born in the summer and thought it would be too hot. My question is, has anyone used the Cocoon and if so, would you recommend it for a winter baby? If it was useful, then I would get it for her.

I used one for a while with my DD - she outgrew it fairly quickly though, well before being ready to be in the buggy's upright position. She's still not ready to sit and I worry somewhat that her head is vulnerable in the buggy without the protection of the cocoon (she's very long!). The cocoon is really good in that when the baby's sleeping you can lift them out without disturbing them. I used to pop DD's straight on a moses basket stand. If it's a winter baby I'd say yes, go for it.

Definately!
My baby was born in February, it was very cold this year.
He outgrew the cocoon very quickly, but it was so great even in those first few weeks to go out and see your newborn cosy and asleep knowing I wouldn't have to wake him up to take him out when I got home.

Thanks for the info - will try finding one on ebay. Aelita, I remember going through a similar dilema with my large boy, and I think there is a period when they don't want to lie down but aren't quite ready to sit up. Unfortunately, I can't remember what I did now, but think I just went for it - once he was able to confidently hold his head up, I just tentatively gave it a go.
