Or a dolls house that she can add to

nailpolish · 18/08/2006 08:03

she has a little people house, she doesnt play with it much though. i suspect its because she doesnt have much to go with it, lol! if i added to it she might be more interested

playmobil has had hours of play value in our house - quite expensive though

nailpolish · 18/08/2006 08:06

before anyone suggests dollies, she doesnt like baby dollies (like annabel etc, thank god!)

Mala · 18/08/2006 09:20

My 3 year dd loves Geomag-it's one of the things she plays with the most. It's also something that dh and I enjoying doing with her.
The other thing she loves is -
have a look at this

It's fab, you get it in Argos too I think

I know all the 3/4 year old friends love them too, so maybe something to consider.

nailpolish · 18/08/2006 09:23

omg mala, dd1 would love that barbie thing! lol

It's great isn't it. And the best bit is that it is so compact and you can take it with you while travelling.

angelsmummy · 18/08/2006 10:02

My dd was 4 at the beginning of August and I stressed no toys! We actually bought one of those enclosed trampolines at the beginning of summer for an early gift as the house is already overloaded and Christmas is getting too near for my liking!

We had a party for nursery friends and got the usual type of gifts, playfood, my little ponies, girly Claires stuff, baby bratz...etc

After all this she has gone back to the old faithful, Littlest Pet Shop. This has been a godsend to me, its had more playable time than any other toy we have bought.

They have some in Argos, some Woolies and I've also found in Toys R Us.

Worth checking Ebay too as some pieces go cheap (just watch p+p though)

Good luck!

nailpolish · 18/08/2006 10:20

ok, ill have a look at littlest pet shop too

dd1 hardly has any toys (make of that what you will!)

just a little people house, jigsaws (her favourite) stickle bricks, and my little pony

she would rather cut out old magazines, bits of junk, stick and glue

i dont know if this is BECAUSE she hardly has any toys, or because thats what she would prefer to do

when she goes to her friends houses she plays with their toys, but i realise this is because they are a novelty

How lucky you are Nailpolish, my dd has FAR too much and honestly she doesn't appreciate any of it.

The first time soething is advertised on Tv and she merely starts to mention it my mum is tripping over herself to go out and buy it

The only good thing that comes out of this is that a couple of times a year there is a lot donated to pre school for fairs etc.

I remember being small and only getting toys at birthdays and Xmas...obviously things change for grandchildren!

nailpolish · 18/08/2006 13:24

dh's family were a bit like that, i made a very discreet hint once that i would prefer it if they took dd's to buy new shoes and coats etc, they now buy most of their clothes (esp. shoes, which i find are SOOO expensive)

dh says "well it keeps them happy, spending money" (dh's family are loaded)
