Groovy Girls or lilydolls

I was thinking of getting one of these ragdolls and some outfits for DD's 2nd birthday.

Has anyone else got them? Are they fairly robust and would stand up to a 2 year old playing with them?

Is 2 a bit young for this? I need to buy her something fairly small and light as we are moving abroad a month after her birthday and want something which will fit easily into suitcase, rather than something which will need to be shipped.

Thanks!

I think that the lily dolls would be a bit tricky to dress and undress for a 2 year old. Also think the outfits are very expensive. Prob. more suitable for an older child. I would probably go for the something like the elc snap and click dolls -

have a look at this

The Groovy Girls are actually sold as 6+ and the Lilydolls as 3+ so, they're really not suitable for a 2nd birthday!

if a baby doll wold do the trick, this is made by the same people as the Lilydolls.

My dd (14 months) has baby Stella - it's great - it has a magnetic thing on its mouth and a dummy, cake, bottle etc which stick to it. And a very cute little tummy button.

aha, knew I'd seen them somewhere

Corolle do a range of rag-type dolls

Thank-you ladies, the baby Stella looks like it might do the trick.

The Corolle ones look fab though!

I love groovy girls and lily dolls (not sure for 2yo tho).
Found a great site seeling groovy girls at bargain prices....
grooovy £5.50 is less than the £8.95 they usually are in the shops.

They are robust all right but as Mala says, too fiddly for your average 2 year old - I know because I bought dd a Lilygirl when she was 28 months old [sentimental fool emoticon]
At three she is really starting to play with her now.
But if I had known about Baby Stella
I am a sucker for well-made toys so although I agree the Lilydoll range is pricy I think it is good value in terms of its staying power.

Am glad I'm not the only sentimental fool when it comes to kids' toys!

Have got DS' wooden castle and knights, the wheelybug, Galt brick trolley, some american radio flyer wagon and can't bear to leave any of them behind so am shipping it all with us!

I love these 'My Doll' ragdolls . But they are really expensive.

I have seen nicer versions of these in a toyshop near us. They are really detailed. But I'd be so anal about letting dd play with it that it's not worth it.

Thanks to all who recommended Baby Stella - she has been a real hit (DD even takes her dummy off to leave it in her cot, just like she does her own every morning!)
