Hi

I did a search on this but the info was all from 2005. I currently have a 0+ car seat the Britax Isofix something or other.

I have heard conflicting info on whether to go for an isofix or not for the next stage.

DD is 13 months and now about 24/25 lbs so need ot get one soon and she is looking uncomfortable in the seat.

major priority is safety and second is comfort.

Has anyone seen the latest which report?

Why not carry on with Isofix?. I even changed cars to stick with Isofix Britax Duo. It appears to be a standard over here in the USA and is called LATCH. Boys love them (although ds1 is now in a booster seat). They're completely safe, you can tilt them and very very comfy, so my boys say anyway. Ds2 was in one from about 14 months.

if you are looking for safety but not an Isofix seat then i would suggest Maxi Cosi Tobi. Bit pricey but well worth it, it shows you whether it is correctly tightened and fitted with indicators and is fitted round the base and the back of the seat rather than just through the back. Need quite long seatbelts tho as well. Have a look on their website. It was downgraded safetywise as it wasn't an Isofix. however is one of the safest to fit with seatbelt when fitted correctly.
If not a britax duo fix or maxi cosi priorifix. There is conflicting info but there is always a what if with any kind of carseat. However, these ones are very good
suggest to get a maxi cosi tobi fitted in your car by BRU or MC they can show you how it fits and tell you more about it

If you want an isofix seat again either the Maxi Cosi Priorifix or Britax Duo Isofix would be suitable. Both do well in Which? tests. There is also a Recaro version I think.

If not, the non-isofix Maxi Cosi Priori is a good safe, seat and the Duo can also be fixed with a seat belt instead.

i also have the maxi cosi tobi and think its great. from what i understand is was in the top few new car seats in the latest which report. would definately reccommend one. i havent got isofix in my car so that wasnt an option but i like the moveable head support and the tightness indicator on the harness in the tobi

I have this year's and last year's Which reports but they're at work - you can download the 2005 one here and I'll post the Best Buys from 2006 tomorrow.

We used the Britax Isofix Duo and got in really well with it. I thought that even in the most recent Which surveys, the Isofix seats at this stage came out top of all car seats.

...actually Xena posted the Best Buys here yesterday
