what do you call those things that stop doors bashing against things?

I don't mean a doorstop (which keeps the door open) but one that you screw into the ground to stop the door hitting something behind it

has anyone seen one with a sucker pad so I can stick it to a fridge?

We call them "Doinkers" - may not be official term though !

CountessDracula · 14/08/2006 14:47

hmm
doesn't come up on google!

I guess I could use a cat's arsehole tea towel thing

Is that a technical term too ?

Lilymaid · 14/08/2006 14:51

door stopper?

Norah · 14/08/2006 14:52

We used a huge lump of blutack for years ! Was nice clean bluetack !

SaintGeorge · 14/08/2006 14:53

Doorstops - can be stuck to the floor as well as the wall.

SaintGeorge · 14/08/2006 14:54

Hmmm, Betterware used to have some little plastic bumpers with adhesive on the back as well, ideal for cupboard doors. Seem not to be in the current book.

Will check my stock, see if I have any.

JackieNo · 14/08/2006 14:55

Some here too.

SaintGeorge · 14/08/2006 14:59

Nope, none in stock otherwise I would have sent them to you CD. Similiar in design to the ones in JackieNo's post.

MrsBadger · 14/08/2006 15:01

they really are called door stops in the building trade - the keep-it-open sort are called either door wedges or door holders.
We have spoingy ones like this screwed to the wall in a couple of rooms and call them, um, spoingers.

I guess this could do the trick but although it says it's adhesive it looks suspiciously like there's a screw holding it to the doorframe.

Thanks all

I have ordered these from lakeland as I need to stick to my fridge so really needed a suction pad thing.
