WTF should I have to pay extra for clothes/shoes?

Just because dd and ds are taller, have bigger fit than the "average" child their age.

6 footers run in the family so I have tall, slim children who also happen to happen biggish feet.

For example ds who is 8.5 is in a size 3.5 shoe and size 10-11 clothes. His shoes from Clarkes cost me £36, £10 more than I normally pay (last year when he was in a size 2). Also was buying trainers for ds and I wanted a pair of Nike Airs. The difference between a 2.5 and 3 is about £30, it's shocking.

This is ludicrous and I think unfair that I am being penalised because genetically my children are tall.

I am not sure how there is a way round it though?

Yes, my lads are the same. My eldest (11) is already in 7s shoes, so I often have to pay adult prices for them.

My dd1 isn't particularly tall for her age yet in shops she is in the next age group ,putting her into the section that is more expensive (found that today buying school stuff -age 8 ! she is 6????)
But on the other hand I am a size 3-4 in shoes so can buy kids trainers!
and I own an age 12 skirt (doesn't fit me now, but it used to )

My bugbear is that in order to get long enought trousers - they go round DD's waist at least twice....thank God for adjustable waistbands - but shirts and jumpers look riduculus on my DD (8yo)

I would just like clothes to fit her occasionally instead of getting 3 sizes too big in order to cover her extremities

My 14yr old brother is over 6ft with huge feet, my Mum has been paying higher prices for him for ages.
