Cheapish, practical comfortable sling. Where can I get one? Any recommendations?

3 days till die date and realised I still haven't got one!

All I want it for is when I have to go and walk the dog which is literally a 10/15 min task at the best but its a biggish task because I have dd who is a nearly 3 year old absconder, the dog (obviously) and the poop a scoopa! So having hands free is a big advantage.

I don't really want to spend a fortune but at the same time I want a good comfortable one.

Any recommendations?
TIA

moby wrap sling, i dont feel comfortable bending down to pick anything up with a ring sling.

YellowFeathers · 10/08/2006 20:18

Thats interesting Misdee. Glad you said that because I'd heard so many people mention how much they liked ring slings. Not a great move then when I'll be havig to pick up poo!

The Coorie rules! Scottish made, too.

I'm quite liking the coorie fleece pouch sling. That looks like it will do the job.

Just trying to determine the correct size now!

I made a fleece Coorie (because I didn't believe they could possibly work) and bought the stretch Kimmer. They are easy to use. I don't like ring ones, they feel somehow insecure. I wouldn't bend over with the kimmer without having a hand on DD though.

Well I've just measured myself and it I think I'd need a medium as it came up 26 inches but would that be right bearing in mind I have a bump?

and is it just a case over sticking it over your head and one arm?

Yes, it is that easy. There is a knack to getting your baby in properly but you get the hang of it very quickly.

Medium is what I got - I'm 5'7 and of average build (size 12).

YellowFeathers · 10/08/2006 20:48

I think I'll get that one then.

I'm 5"3 and was a 10 up top pre baby, lord knows what after so I reckon Medium will be ok

This seems like a useful guide to the kinds on offer: choosing a sling

YellowFeathers · 10/08/2006 21:02

Have bought a black fleece coorie pouch

Am very pleased. Can't wait for it to come now!

Wonder who will be first, baby or sling???
