Hiya - Is there a 7 seater that when you have it in 5 seater mode, you can have a parcel shelf and a big boot?

Zafira has a soft luggage cover for when the back seats are folded (and luggage area is vast).

An actual parcel shelf is not a good idea, if you put things on it and have to brake hard they come flying through the car.

We chose the Grand Voyager because of boot space. The new ones have seats that fold into the base. I like it - never thought I'd say that about a people carrier!

the new ford galaxy has 7 seats that fold flat or virtually flat. dont know it it has a parcel shelf. we looked extensively for a seven seater with what we though was a reasonable criteria - 1. luggage space - whats the point of 7 seats and no luggage space, we dont really want the hassle of a roof rack / storage. 2. seats that fold into the floor 9 ( whats the point of offering someone a lift home when the extra seats are in the garage being used as a home from home by rats/ other vermin insects etc. 3. decent rear headroom so that an adult can sit in the back without being bent double. only the grand voyager could satisfy all three. if we only wanted the kids at the rear most point then the verso is a fantastic choice or the zafira. all the salesmen look at us like maniacs when we asked about 'the parcel shelf'. i can remember now which ones had them and which ones didnt. but by far and away our favourite was the grand voyager stow and go model jan 2005 onwards I think - only real niggle is that his model has no euro ncap rating ( i know only useful on a like for like rating) but the last model tested was one of the worst on record for safety.

Would definately prefer folding seats and parcel shelf or just a cover. Lots of info here to look at, thanks very much. x

There is a little hidey bit in the boot for the headrest and boot cover, and still space left over to put a couple of day packs in to hide them. If you have all the headrests on the seats then it's even more enormous.

Sorry - talking about Avensis Verso in my last message.

I've got a Peugeot 406 Family Estate. Big estate size boot with a parcel shelf and then a soft pull out bit to cover the rest. It has two fold out child seats in the back which are great but DS1, who's only 8 but 138cm, is a bit creased up when he sits in them. It's nice, because it's got the carrying capacity but still looks like a car iyswim.

The new Zafiras have a retracting load cover. We use ours when we're using 5 seats.

I have a grand espace - loads of room with 7 seats. You can fold down the back seats ot take them out & put in a shelf.
