But that would cost an extra for the matteress so £579 when there is a shorty one in argos for 120 but it doesn't have a desk.

Homebase do one with all the trimmings for £299 (I think - I was looking at it today)

Thats the on I was looking at but the trouble is DS1 needs a desk too and I want him to go into the small room.
Was it a shorty one fisil?

You missed a 'must-read' thread on this together with FULLY RESEARCHED Powerpoint show by Ellaroo ! Here ya go !

Thats great hub thanks. Haven't seen that last hyder one before either, DS is 8 and I need it to last him only about 4 years as DS2 will be able to inherit it. DD's have girly beds. But that one would be suitable for a teenager so he would be able to keep it if he wanted. Ellaroo makes the point that maybe a teenager wouldn't want lots of those beds.

Does a shorty one mean that it was short in length? I didn't know they existed. that might be a good idea for us too - as the room is very small. But wouldn't he grow out of it fast? (although dp and I never quite reached 5 foot 4, so maybe not!)

hub2dee · 30/07/2006 21:54

Glad it helped. dd is one so I have plenty of time to choose / decide... it's just that her room is so small I was looking ahead at how we might incorporate storage etc. etc. etc.

Yes it means that they are about 20cm shorter and I thought that as I am short enough to sleep in it that hopefully it would last a while for DS1 first and the DS2 if we got 10years of use it would be worth it. As mentioned before the girls have girly beds (iron ones with hearts) so they can't really swop. 10years enough though?? hopefully by then we will have a huge 5 bed house and they'll all have massive bedrooms so storage won't be an issue

don't, whatever you do, get one from MFI (if it's still in existence?)
They mucked us around so much when we ordered ours. I would go for the Argos one - presumably if you want a short one, you're not expecting it to last for ever anyway and a friend bought hers from there when we got ours from MFI and her service was much better.
