have a bugaboo but plan to get a buggy to leave in the car and to take on holiday.

what are your views on the best? must be light and have at least one recline position.

happy to spend up to £150 if it'll last.

Hello,

We've noticed this thread is quite old and some of the product recommendations are a little out of date. We've spent weeks speaking to parents and testing out lightweight strollers and buggies. Here's our round up of the best buggies available to buy now

Hope that helps!

Maclaren triumph. Cheap and cheerful - try Kiddicare - and very light.

We have a McLaren Quest and been very happy with it, lightweight easy to fold and we've had it 3 years adn still doing well its about £100

maclaren ryder

love it

liquidclocks · 24/07/2006 20:37

Love my maclaren triumph, £45 from ebay new. £105 left over... what to do???

JakeysMummy · 24/07/2006 21:16

Maclaren Quest - think the Triumph is very similar too and a bit cheaper? Try Glasgow Pram Centre as well as Kiddicare, but they're both cheaper than the high street

JakeysMummy · 24/07/2006 21:18

Forgot to say if you want one that reclines fully Mamas & Papas Pulse - £89 in store or £99 online (?!) - about the same as a Maclaren Techno, a bit bigger than the Quest and Triumph. Sorry if i sound like a swot i've just been on a mission buying ds a new one!!

BonyM · 24/07/2006 21:18

Hated my Triumph, sold it on Ebay.

Have a Jane Energy now which is much more comfy, but still not perfect.

TooTicky · 24/07/2006 21:32

I've got a Combi Dash which is super-light, folds one-handed and comes with a carrying strap and bag (to put the buggy in). I only used it a couple of times as I prefer my 3-wheeler because, although heavy, I can trek it through the fields. If you're interested in the Dash, you can have it for £50.

PanicPants · 24/07/2006 21:45

We got a quinny zap for this exact reason. Fits beautifully into my boot and is really light.

kikidee · 24/07/2006 21:45

I bought a Quest for boot/holidays but it's a poor second choice to my lovely Jane Powertrack. It drove me to distraction on holiday over cobbles and uneven pavements and it doesn't bump up and down stairs very well, but for £80 I'm not sure anything in that price range would be that great. If you don't mind spending a bit more then maybe the Techno would be better. They have bigger wheels than the Quest so it seems like less of a bumpy ride.

misdee · 24/07/2006 21:48

i second tha maclaren ryder.

(had it almost a year and not sold it, so must be good lol)

JakeysMummy · 24/07/2006 22:18

good point about the quest kikidee - my mum bought one for ds for our holiday later this year and we tried it out at the sunday market (which is on a big field with potholes galore) - ds was not impressed!!! The mamas and papas pulse and maclaren techno have a bit of suspension in
