BUGABOO GECKO VS CHAMELEON

Can anyone tell me simply what the difference is between the frog, gecko and chameleon. Which is meant to be best and why. Which you would recommend for short mummy(!!) 5ft with 11 month baby and a 4 year old needing to go on the buggy board. Is there one better for more off road etc.

Any help will be gratefully received as I am baffled, I have had/got just about every make going but not Bugaboo yet!!!

No difference. Each one as super mega fugly as the last.

hunker, behave.

Cannot help you but would recommend a Mountain Buggy Terrain instead if you need sensible wheels offroad. Our mugaboo mates often get stuck whilst our chariot goes forth (muddy fields etc.).

The Frog was the first Bugaboo to come out, and I don't think it's made any more.

The Cameleon was an updated and flashier version, with better suspension, an adjustable handlebar, and switchable fleece covers in new colours.

The Gecko was released at the same time as the Cameleon and was designed to be the 'basic' model - limited colours, no adjusable handlebar and the same suspension as the original Frog.

Personally I think they're extrodinarily expensive for what they are - make sure you check out the competition (the Bebeconfort Loola, the Stokke Xplory and the Hauck Infinity) before making a firm decision. And check it fits in your boot - they don't fold small at all.

I always thought the only good thing about the Bugaboos was the cosy looking carrycot - but that's not going to be much good for an 11 month old (and I bet you can't get it without the carrycot so have to waste all that money)

so actually I think it would be a bit pointless in your case. also they don't fit in cars easily

I have got a double Mountain buggy but they are huge when folded so I thought the single would be much the same as its only 6cm narrower. I have tried the Maclaren and Zapp etc that fold small and are light but they are rubbish on my school walk (public footpath, bumpy eneven pavements and loads of wonky kerbs)!!! I thought the Stokke was good but it is huge when stored too and thought the Bugaboo would be smaller but still all terrain.

Anyone got any bright ideas??? ~Cost not a real issue it is more important that it does what I need it to!!!

The bugaboo fold / two pieces is a little awkward. The Terrain folds flat and the rear wheels are quick release so it's easier to manage. Still not a 'small' buggy (like say a Maclaren etc.)

what about the Jane Nomad? it's less freaky looking than the frugaboos and has two chunky wheels at each front corner so is excellent on bumpy roads. (my friends with 'boos often seem to have difficulties on kerbs unless they approach them carefully). it also has a continuous handle, takes a jane surfer board, is light and folds not bad. i have an ancient fiat panda and it goes in the back of that with one popped back wheel. oh, and the new colours are Lovely.

it is quite expensive, though.

sorry, just to be clear. it folds 'not bad' in terms of size. as fo the folding action it couldn't be easier, just lift a couple of pieces on the chassis and it drops in half.
i have one and i love it. i reckon that the Jane people, having cracked the three-wheeler and double buggies, looked at the Bugaboos, twirled their moustaches and decided they could do something similar... but better.
