As we're going to be around for most of the Summer I'm going to be nice to the kids and get a trampoline for the garden. Would anyone recommend any particular make/supplier, or more importantly have you bought a particular model and regretted it! (No horror stories please - I've read the statistics and I know what medical professionals think about them! Anyway, I'm going to be a good mummy and buy the surround to go with it).

Last year I bought a 13' trampoline from Woolworths, I think it was £160 or similar. I bought the safety net from Ebay new around £95.

Definately need the safety net and dont let the kids bounce together, especially if one is bigger than the other.

We got a 14' from here . Came with safety surround and cover. Speedy delivery too. We have a 3 and 5 year old, so no surround was simply not an option for us. The surround is very snug and secure, but of course one of the biggest dangers is kids colliding so it doesn't replace supervision!

Great idea about the egg timer!

I'm thinking no net but buying a 12 or 14 foot one. I think I would only allow them on if supervised and not all bouncing together to try and avoid accidents.

Gobbledigook · 21/07/2006 11:58

i'm looking at this one

is this as good as Super Tramp or not? It says max weight 22 stone whereasthe Mad Dash ones on offer say 14 stone (no good for dh!!)

scoobytwo · 21/07/2006 12:22

we have a tp 8ft with surround bought from elc complete for £175 but i beleive they are now cheaper, its a lower down one so easier for the little ones to get onto,i realy wouldnt even consider getting one without the surround,i wouldnt have bought one without it,i have 2 littlens and a older ds12 so its fine for all&i go on it too

alibubbles · 21/07/2006 14:11

I thik that is maybe the other one we looked at gobbledigook, but decided on the one with the longer guarantees as we thought we were going to leave it out all year round. and that it would get a lot more use than it did.

It is so easy to take apart and put back together than we thought so we actually did put it away at the end of the summer, it then came pout for 4 weeks last year as DS promptly went abroad to work and DD lives in Paris term time.

Any one want to make an offer?

I got mine from here www.gforcetrampolines.com and couldn't recommend them highly enough. Mines a 10 x 7 rectangular with a safety net/cover/stairs/shoebag and it was £300 inc. next day delivery. We haven't stopped bouncing since we got it (strict rules - one at a time!) Good luck.

poppiesinaline · 21/07/2006 18:24

Alibubbles DH said he didnt want to spend that much even though it is a bargain.

alibubbles · 21/07/2006 20:39

poppiesinsaline, no probs!

Karensara, I used to train on a rectangular and it must always be a one only policy, we3 used to do synchronised trampolining on two rectangular ones side by side. It was great fun!

I bought the B&Q one earlier as hopefully we will be in Sydney this time next year so as long as I get a year out of it it's fine - it seems pretty sturdy and for £109 it was a bargain. My kids think I am the best mum in the world so win-win all round I think!

GDG - the Mad Dash 12' and 14' can take over 20st.

mousiemousie · 23/07/2006 17:04

I have a 12 foot trampoline with safety net - safety net is essential IMO, money well spent!
