Hi
That's it really. Does anyone know of one?
I looked at tandems the other day but soon realised that stopping to attened to dd2 who would be in the front would be a bit of a nightmare as she hates being in a buggie to start with . So i reallt fancy a one to face me. Can't seem to see one though!

How old are they? I have a Bertini Bidwell with a toddler seat that can be forward facing or rear facing the only thing is they can't both be sat up at the same time so if you have a baby & an under 15kg it works well (it is for sale btw!!)

NomDePlume · 19/07/2006 10:28

The only one I can think of atm is the Bertini Bidwell Twin.

10 or 15 years or so ago M&P did a rear facing double, in fact so did most of the manufacturers. No idea why they stopped.

Marne · 19/07/2006 10:29

DD2 hates not being able to see me, how old is dd2? We use a powertwin and dd2 uses the carseat/travil system bit so she is facing me but she's only 4 months, don't know what we will do when she is too big for it.

Kelly1978 · 19/07/2006 10:30

i have the emmaljunga twin cerox. It faces both ways. It's a lovely pram, similar to the bertini, but they are pricey.

NomDePlume · 19/07/2006 10:30

Emmaljunga do one too, the model name is the Cerox, or the Twin City Cross

Babystyle do one, called the Lux Twin Classic

Kelly1978 · 19/07/2006 10:31

M&P still do the twin tandem, that might face both ways, and the seats clip onto a chassis. It has to be imported though, they don't retail in this county, though there are websites that will import it for you.

NomDePlume · 19/07/2006 10:32

Babystyle range from £292 to £334.99

Twin Cerox £510

Angeliz · 19/07/2006 10:32

Thanks have just looked at the Bertini. Looks nice but quite wide?

Dd2 will be 17 months when the baby arrives. Thanks whoops but i have an Emmaljunga so i could get a toddler seat for that but i don't like them. Freak accidents worry me

I like the look of the twin Bertini as it's 'old-fashioned' looking but i', worried about the width.

Yes, the m&p one i was thinking of was the side-by-side 2in1 double.

Kelly1978 · 19/07/2006 10:34

marne we started out witht he powertwin, and the dts don't liek it now. Hence we got the emmaljunga.

Angeliz · 19/07/2006 10:35

NomeDePlume. We LOVE the Emmaljunga double rear facing. (we have a shop locally that does them and i've drooled over them already) but tbh it's MASSIVE and can't see dd2 getting that much use as she's a free spirit who hates being strapped in!
Kelly, how do you find the Emmaljunga? Is it not too wide for town?

OP posts:
Angeliz · 19/07/2006 10:36

Will look at M+P website but i asked instore yesterday and they don't do any here.

NomDePlume · 19/07/2006 10:36

That's the prob I think. all the rear facing dbls are big trad style monsters that would be hell on wheels to shop with.

Kelly1978 · 19/07/2006 10:40

It is a bit wide facing for town, but it depends where you go. Most normal shops are ok, but any small independant shops and you can forget it! If I pop to the local shops on the way home, I leave it outside with dd or ds1. Despite the size and weight, it is a dream to push, and great for walks in the forest, etc.

Kelly1978 · 19/07/2006 10:42

this is mine Very drool-making! It attracts a lot of looks.

Angeliz · 19/07/2006 10:49

Yes it is adorable!
Might go and have another look this afternoon
The local shop for me is a Spar with double doors so no problem there. I was thinking more of town but tbh i rarelt go in to town. There also a single gate into School though to get dd1 which i have to consider. We have a caravan in the country though and i guess it would be great for there.

Yes NDP, we were looking at lightwheight ones till i realised they all faced away! Very strange. There's a gap in the market!

Apparently there have been a report recently about the fact that prams now are not rear facing anymore and are all mainly forward facing. Results found that they decrease interaction with the child. I agree, I have a rear facing m&p and use it for walks locally etc and I love the fact that dd & I can look and "chat" to each other while we are out. However the pram we use in town etc is forward facing and I must admit I hate the fact that I can't see dd and also the fact that it does limit what I say to her... Shame really..don't know why these pram places aren't listening to us mums...

Katymac · 20/07/2006 20:00

I've got one - It's lovely for the children - but tbhonest I find it quite difficult to push - I'll see if I can find a photo

aaronsmummy · 23/07/2006 09:24

First Wheels City Elite Twin - can be forward or rear facing

Angeliz · 24/07/2006 23:03

I have the single for dd in pink and love it - so easy to manouver. If you live near you could try it.

Angeliz · 25/07/2006 12:47

aaronsmummy, thanks for the offer we are going to see one next week though. Bless you!

We have a caravan in the country, do the smaller wheels manage rougher surfaces do you know?

aaronsmummy · 25/07/2006 13:05

I have an uneven stony path to playgroup and I manage ok, no problems. HTH
