60cm is a bit short for a wardrobe, perhaps get a cupboard and fit a rail, cheap to get the bits for that.

ikea pax ones are v tall and come in 50cm if that is of any use.

Aha - try ikea hopen

Agree Ikea have loads of cupboards and units that could easily have a rail added.

We got the Leksvik Linen Cabinet (£130) from Ikea last year as it comes with a pole and four shelves (we have a pole and one shelf in ours, but you can play around with the configuration). We spray-painted ours white and it looks very girly and fits in a small space brilliantly (our space had to be below 60cm too).

Have you heard of Mike Ear (or similar for your area) - you tell them what you want from the Ikea website and they deliver it to you (you give them a cheque only once it arrives and you're happy with it) - you can even pay them to assemble it!

I think Mike Ear only operate in the SE, ellaroo.

Have you looked at MFI, essbee?

Ellaroo · 06/07/2006 22:53

No - it was really cheap - about £30 for up to 5 items when I did it. I know equivalents of Mike Ear exist all around the country - I think you can just google 'Ikea Delivery' or something like that and it will come up with some.

Mike Ear

There's also unflatpack

I emailed and asked if they were extending their area and they do plan to but haven't heard back since

MFI have loads of "single" wardrobes 44cm wide - sounds a bit narrow to me but they would fit OK.

Alternatively, I bet there are pine furniture shops down there that could make you up something to fit the space exactly?

babaworshipper · 06/07/2006 23:20

Nope there def is a 50 cm pax look at frames then there is a drop down menu for width once you have clicked on a frame choice.

Oh bum, they are all built-in ones, not freestanding.

Well kind of built in - you just fix them to the wall at the top, they look great though.

babaworshipper · 06/07/2006 23:24

was talking about ikea ones maybe getting confused!
