My mum said to me (I am a 50 year old man) that mumsnet mums all drive new cars. I said that was rubbish. But you only have What Car reviews...so maybe she is right...??

No and I wouldn't trust a What Car review as far as I could throw it.

The last two cars I've had were brand new when I bought them, but as the last time I bought a car was 8 years ago - I don't think anyone would say I drive a new car.

I don't mine is 2001. Cars aren't a priority to me.
Its not costing me lots of money in repairs so its fine.

Our newer car (out of the 2) is an 07 plate.
the older one was built in the last century.

One of my cars is older than you OP so your mother is quite incorrect.

However I don't think anyone would particularly be interested in a review of car that the last model rolled off the production line in the late 60s

09 and 60 here. Only just bought the 60 but got the 09 new on a good deal.

Bought one at 18 months old, closest to new I'll ever get.
My 70yo dad has a really prestigious, well-paid job & career & has only ever bought 2 new cars. He likes Mercedes & BMWs but can't afford them new, either.

My car was new when I bought it 9 years ago.
I will drive it till it dies. If I were to change my car I would only buy the same one so what's the point?

Yes, new company cars for last 15 years. Changed every 3-4 years.

Bit of both. We have an 52 Toyota and a 63 Volvo. Prefer the older one tbh.

51 plate car. we did have a 04 plate but it was shit to be fair. older cars where built to last
