Anyone know where I can get a cherry stoner from?

Lazy I know - but my kids love cherries and I would love to have this gadget.
My hairdresser told me the other week that she has one but I can't remember where she said she got it from.
Does anyone have one and are they much good? TIA

My bog-standard garlic crusher has a cherry stoner in the middle of it.

GeorginaA · 06/07/2006 16:01

Lakeland and they're fab!

moondog · 06/07/2006 16:01

Oh bollocks to that.
Lifes too short.
I just eat 'em stones and all.

GeorginaA · 06/07/2006 16:02

cherry stoner - this is the one we have.

sparkler1wantsaconservatory · 06/07/2006 16:02

My eldest swallows the stones.

You can order online

Alan · 06/07/2006 16:03

is it easier than using a knife?

dont want to brag or anything but i am buying local cherries (organic) for 99p a lb

sparkler1wantsaconservatory · 06/07/2006 16:03

I don't mind sucking the flesh off the stones - would be good just to give dds a bowl of cherries and know that they are not going to choke.

Thanks for the link Georgina - I wondered what they looked like. Gotta have one - am more likely to get one of those than a conservatory at the moment [wink ]wink]

Lakeland is at Castle Point Sparkler. On the way in on the right hand side before you get to the car park.

Fine thanks Sparkler, how are you ? Did I read somewhere that you have a new job ?

foxinsocks · 06/07/2006 19:01

how does it work? it says it leaves the cheery whole

foxinsocks · 06/07/2006 19:01

or even cherry

Kittypickle · 06/07/2006 19:02

I used to love those when my Grandmother in Germany used to have one when I was a child. You put the cherry on the bottom circle of metal and then push a prong down and it pushes the stone out the bottom I think.

MargotLedbetter · 06/07/2006 19:10

I have Jose, my man servant to stone the cherries for me

Alan · 06/07/2006 19:12

with his tongue?

MargotLedbetter · 06/07/2006 19:17

Oh he does wonders with his tongue, Alan.

Alan · 06/07/2006 19:19

I bet he's a whizz in your lady garden

MargotLedbetter · 06/07/2006 19:25

He is an expert at Topary. I get him to give it a good trim to keep everything neat and tidy once a wekk or so.

Alan · 06/07/2006 19:26

can i borrow him or is he not bi?
