baking playset

out of stock online but loads on sale at our ELC store

Ds chose it and has played with it for about 60 solid minutes. Worth every penny and I think you could really cook with it (except for putting the loaf tin in the oven, maybe)

Oh the first picture on the website is not very informative - look at the second picture to see all the bits you get.

My mum bought something very similar for my dd last Christmas. All the stuff in her set is genuine cookware, just extra tiny. Even comes with own recipe leaflet. Unfortunately, the only thing we made off the recipe sheet tasted horrid.

Ledodgyherring · 05/07/2006 18:28

That looks good.
My friend gets emails of new business ventures and she got one the other day about a dutch toy thats come on the market which is basically a minature bricks and mortar type set where kids can make their own house and if they want to make something else they dip it in water and they can make whatever they like with it.
|Not really anything to do with OP but just reminded me

My dh bought that for ds (2.5) a few weeks ago. He loves it. He will spend a good hour with playdough and a shape-sorter box with a door as a pretend oven. Great stuff.

Bump for morning people. He is playing with it again this morning with some bread dough and it is utterly fab.

Good price.
I'm too tight to spend on miniatures of what I already have though.

I did buy a fantastic second hand home made range (complete with funky 60s wallpaper in cupboards and drawers) t'other day though for about £3 which thery love.

I realised that every single item in ds's room is second hand apart from the IKEA bed.

More money for beer and fags.

I got a similar set with a cookbook from M&S. And a cute apron
DD loves making a mess...erm, using her creative and manipulative skills....

FrannyandZooey · 06/07/2006 08:37

Yeah I know what you mean Moondog. Something about the smallness of it appealed to him though. I think they spend the first 3 years wanting to have exactly what you have and the next 3 saying "I want my OWN one"

Yes it is is a very rare treat to be bought a new toy (ie from the shops) in this house too. Ds was given a giant play ball at the weekend by my sister, and I want him to lend it to me for my toddler groups, so I bribed him by saying I would buy him something else to play with as well, if he would share with me. It seemed ruddy silly buying a second giant play ball and he was not at all keen to let me have it (fair enough really)

Ledodgyherring , that bricks and mortar set is not new by any stretch of the imagination. They've been around for 60 years or more!
