hmm

read the website and wasn't initally convinced (encouraging children to play on luggage? Shocking!) but to get a 6yo to carry a bit of their own stuff, and/or as an alternative to a pushchair for a 3yo it might be worthwhile...

However, most airlines let you check a pushchair at the gate, and you'd probably need it when you're on the holiday anyway, so I guess all Trunki does is mean you'd check the buggy in with the suitcases and have to carry coats and hand luggage, and tow the child, till you got to the gate.

And it says it's not suitable to go in the hold, so if you used it as a suitcase for a 6yo it'd have to be their hand lugagge all the way - on stairs, escalators, bus out to plane etc - a backpack is probably better.

It's cute (and well priced as these things go) but I'm not sold on it yet.

you have summarised my feeling there too!

the price was very appealing though!

I wouldn't fancy dragging those two lumps miles through an airport on that when they could walk! It looks to me like loading yourself up with more awkward paraphernalia and very bulky to carry on a shoulder strap it's about the size of a ride on toy isn't it?

MrsBadger · 04/07/2006 11:46

of course, if one was given one as a present (nudge nudge wink wink useless MIL) one could hardly object...

MerlinsBeard · 04/07/2006 11:49

great idea if ur not flying too. U can put loads of their stuff in it and they still have a ride on for holidays!!

agree its a MIL kind of gift tho

Hi

I'm Dave and i'm from Trunki. I just wanted to clarify a few points about Trunki. Trunki doesn't have to be a replacement for a pushchair, but we did design it as a replacement for heavy rucksacks. There is much more room in Trunki (18 litres infact) than most rucksacks for children and the design of Trunki means tots can ride it instead of damaging their backs carrying it.

Trunki also doesn't have to be pulled, kid's can propell themselves along too.

Trunki really comes into its own during delays though, when kids would usually bored, Trunki gives them a ride on toy to play with.

If you have any questions about Trunki , do not hesitate to email us at [email protected].

Hello Dave from Trunki

MrsBadger · 04/07/2006 14:05

ah, so this is a plot to get kids to take more stuff on holiday now they can wheel it rather than carry it? Can see my 'only toys that will fit in your rucksack' policy flying out the window as Trunki is crammed with everything up to and including the doll's house...
However I can suddenly see the advantage of it if you have (eg) a 3yo and a tiny - the world's first ride-on changing bag!

Ditto trips to useless MILs where it can get used as a ride-on in the garden.

Like I said - would be interesting to be given one and see how it got used, but haven't got a burning need for one.

a trunki woudl only be needed by an elfanti or a munki

katzg · 04/07/2006 14:28
