Used to have one in the UK, was a present from my friends - Swiss/French couple. Slice up tomatoes, gerkins and have muenster or raclette cheese if you can get it in slices put that all in the little plans under the element until the cheese melts and browns tip out onto plate with lashes of great salad and garlic bread/baguette. Yummy and washed down with nice chilled white wine or champagne. Bacon is also great in the pans/pancetta small pieces that will cook quickly. I loved it and used it a lot. Had to get rid of it as moved to US

Oh yes, salami is great too. Bargain buy. Does it have the little pans with it. If you like garlic, rub a clove over the top before you switch it on and that is great for the meat. I used to toast my bread on the top aswell whilst the cheese was melting underneath. You're making me hungry and I've just had breakfast.

Boiled potatoes are great too. We got one as a wedding present from our German friends but unfortunately it doesn't work here. Any idea why? Is it a voltage issue or is it just a faulty machine?

Alipiggie · 30/06/2006 17:58

Should work as European voltage is the same as UK, mine went from Uk to Europe and back. Have you checked the plug?

pegasus · 30/06/2006 18:26

Yes there's nothing wrong with the fuse but we haven't had it rewired, have just been using a converter plug so maybe there is something wrong with that.
