Clinique bonus time - my love affair is over since...

they have started to add the "one must be skincare"

I don't need that much skincare

I want lots of make up though

I'd be quite happy with a minimum spend to qualify as I guess some people were taking the p by just buying the cheapest stuff in the range to get the freebies.

Do any other brand do a similar thing but not stipulate skincare?

When I was much younger you used to get FAB free gifts great big holdalls and handbags, they've not been worth getting in ages.

I'm useless at choosing makeup colours and all my favourites have originally been a "bonus" which I then buy again.

I think its really short sighted on their behalf - once they phase out the colours I like i'm certainly not taking a punt in the dark and buying things I haven't tried, about 90% of the time my choices end up not being used.

At the moment I need a mascara and to replace a lip crayon I had as a freebie a few months ago, I don't need skincare or the hard sell I got on it when I did bonus time in boots a couple of months ago.

It's not just them. Loads of the houses stipulate skincare to be included. It is however at the managers discretion (normally) so you could appeal to them?!

Yeah I think Estee Lauder and Elizabeth Arden have always done it that way (which is why I have never tried their ranges)

I seem to remember that's what Clinique originally did.
