Hi. We've got a B Bjorn carrier but I don't find it that comfy... or rather it starts out that way and very soon feel like i'm wearing a sack of potatoes. I'm looking at the hugabub ones and also the carry me sling (described as being like a baby bag - this makes me hope that its easy to put on. I like the sound of hugabub but I'm nervous that the 'gets a few gos to get the hang of it' is an understatement Anyone tried both or can help me make a decision please. Having already shelled out for the BB I don't want to get it wrong. DH and the bank balance would be so pleased if I could get it right. So would my DS and my poor back. Thank you! x

I use the Hug a bub all the time and ADORE it. My clients (I'm a doula) all buy it and all get it!!! It may take a couple of goes to get good at it (in terms of how tight to make it) but it's really very smple !
Today I demonstrated it to 9 doulas and one said can I try and she right away did it right!

moby wrap sling £25, pretty much the same as a huggababy.

misdee · 23/06/2006 22:05

i have used the moby since dd3 was tiny, she is now 16montsh old and still use wrap slings with her. i have a bad back and neck, and these slings are so easy to use even for me.

I have a hugabub and love it. I also have a ring sling that I could not get the hang of when DS2 was little, but now he's bigger he loves being worn upright in it.

The wrap is better for my back and neck though - I only use the ring sling for short times.

i use the ring sling at school drop offs and pick ups, or if i am just popping over the rd to see someone.

hey pupuce, wow that was quick thank you! I must say they really appeal. DS is now nearly 4 months and a very chirpy fella. When he's wanting to be hold and I'm needing to do something and hold him it would be great to be able to. BB feels a bit technical and non cosy somehow. do you have any knowledge of the New Native sling too? that looks good too... you can see what a pickle of a state i'm in. Too many products i reckon and my brain gone into over load. Hug a bub does sound great so unless anyone thinks New Native is great then I'm up for HB. My baby is very keen on being held upright and being able to get a good look at what's going on around us... have been since about 6 weeks. Does anyone know if NN can be worn with baby facing outwards and if it's comfy. Thanks Pupuce - you sound like you have the lowdown on slings ;))

I swear by these. I'm on my second - not because they wear out quickly but because I just want to use it all the time and I'm on child 4...
you'll never look back

thanks guys! I'm going to have a scan of all of them and plump for one... might take me a while but i'm determined to stop the dithering.
