buggyboards

Hi
I have read lots of discussions on buggyboards, but can't find anywhere the answer to my question - can anyone tell me whether a 'standard' buggyboard (or any particular makes/models) come out far enough at the back for the buggy back to lay flat???
All the photos I have seen on websites seem to show them with an older baby rather than a newborn, and the back of the pushchair in an upright position.
My daughter will be 3 when our baby is born, and won't walk very far, but is already 15kg which is the max weight for most double buggies - apart from that i don't really want the expense of a double, and also want to use the carrycot attachment on the pushchair we have for the newborn.
We have a 3 year old m&p pliko pushchair, with navetta infant carrier 'carrycot' attachment - has anyone used a buggyboard with this model???
Help - i have tried contacting m&p who didn't even reply to my email, and various other manufacturers none of whom can give me a definite answer, and can't find any boards in the shops to go and try out. help!!

I dont know the answer to your question Doodleprint but I have 3 Buggyboards here that you can try (and have if they fit).
We were given all three by friends when DD was born but ended up not using any of them.

I have litaf seat to go which does not interfere with the buggy seat (although my buggy does not recline fully.)
Sounds like a good offer from mckenzie!

I used a carrycot when dd2 was a newborn and dd1 was 3.6 - there was lots of room on the pram for the 'lay flat' option and still room for the buggy board ( where dd1 wasn't squashed)
this was a bebe confort - a fairly large pram

I think your best best is to take the pram you're going to use into John Lewis or similar and ask them, we did the same

I now use a techno maclaren and still sometimes have dd2 lying 'flat' and the buggyboard is fine
good luck!

The buggy board will attach to the rear 'legs' of the pushchair, and the new fixings are better and I think longer than the odler ones. Your tot will stand between your arms and behind the rear wheels so I don't think that you should have a problem unless the carrycot/seat part of the pushchair comes out towards you further than the wheels stick out iyswim.
