Bedding from Babies R Us - Help!
SpringChicken · 13/02/2004 12:58
Have bought all of our nursery bits and also bought all bedding for our cot.
However, we haven't actually bought a cot as yet and have now realised i have probably restricted myself now to having buy a cot rather than a cot bed.
Does anyone know if the bedding will fit a cotbed? or will i have to change it if i decide to go for a cotbed?
Thanks in advance

i bought ds1 stuff from there 3 years ago, he had a cot bed and the bedding definetly fitted it, which bedding did u buy?
SpringChicken · 13/02/2004 14:44
It's called Little Bear - bit of a pain really as everything we have bought is from that range - the curtains, lampshade, border etc.
Just hope it fits or else we are stuck buying a cot - we have found a cot we like but saw a really good deal yesterday where you get cot, wardrobe, drawers & changing unit all for £399 - the furniture was actually really nice too!

The only thing that might not fit is the actual fitted mattress sheet - you'd probly need cotbed ones as cotbedsoens are longer. but blankets etc should be ok.
Do you know wether your having a boy or a girl spring???

Thanks Fairydesu - no don't know the sex and hoping we don't find out by accident at the 20 wk scan on Thursday!
I was thinking that it should only be the fitted sheet and maybe the bumper that wont fit - i'm not overly bothered aboutt he bumper anyway and will just buy some bigger sheets to be on the safe side.
Thanks
fairydust · 17/02/2004 14:44
bumper should be ok - as there a standard size.
the little bear range is so cute
SpringChicken · 17/02/2004 15:26
i thought cot beds were slightly bigger than normal cots though! Although may be the same width.
We thought it was too and much better value for money than any of the mamas and papas ranges.
fairydust · 17/02/2004 15:46
we had a classic pooh range from mothercare - and although it was lovley it's kinda a little babish for a two yr old.
HAve you decorated the room yet???
SpringChicken · 18/02/2004 14:30
We were thinking that but to be honest - no matter what ever nursery range you go for DD/DS is going to want it changing when they start getting into stuff anyway!
Not started decoaring as yet - we are just doing everywhere cream and using pictures and a border to introduce more colours etc.
We have bought everything along the lines of curtains, lampshade, bedding, cot tidy, nappy stacker etc - i have to shut the door to the room though or else i gettng tempted to hang the curtains "Just to see what they look like" ! !
Humming and Ahhhing at the minute over when to do all the decorating, get everythig in and up and putting the cot up - I want to do it NOW

Fairydust, can winnie the pooh ever be forever babyish? Such a lovable character.
SpringChicken · 18/02/2004 14:50
I love Winnie the Pooh! Don't think it's overly babyish but think the poor old bear is just getting a bit old now - bless him
Saying that my aunt is 42 and still has a huge Winnie the Pooh teddy on her bed!
GenT · 18/02/2004 15:00
FairyD what if you used only 1 or 2 pieces instead of the entire range in the room. It will be more like accent pieces then.
The poor old bear still has wise advice.
fairydust · 18/02/2004 15:05
what i was gonig to say spring is - if you keep the room a nutral colour it's cheaper to change the room.
I.e just change bedding etc and stickers on walls without having to redecorate the wholew room
SpringChicken · 18/02/2004 15:22
I dread to think what the room will actually look like in a few years time - what will it be Turtles, Barbie, beyblades, Tweenies..........................
