We've got a nice boat themed sandpit, and a good climbing frame with swing and slide combo, plus a playhouse. What else can we do? (anything to encourage them to play outside for as long as possible...)

Anybody recommend a really kicking seesaw?

I can highly recommend putting a toy kitchen in the garden, with pots and pans and plates and cups - play value for hours.

I have two kids who prefer staying at home to going out. We have to be creative :)
Thinking again......washing line, let them have pegs and dollys clothes to hang out..woolies do big pegs kids can cope with. Let them have the wahing basket.
Cardboard box with hole in in for washing machine...in fact just bung them outside with a box each!

Paddling pool with slide to go in it (DS 4 and DD nearly 2 do that all day!). Mini trampoline or big one if got the space. Went to friends and she had one of those water slide things and kids did that all afternoon but wastes water, pool and slide combo just as good!

handlemecarefully · 11/06/2006 23:11

I did buy some water pistols to use with paddling pool (that's about as 'original' as I get...up until now that is!)
