Shade a babe...

I bought one yesterday. Does anyone know if the fabric softens up a bit? And also, to use just the shade and not the net it says to push the net under. i can't do this easily or tidily and wondered if there is a knack to it. ATM I have to take the whole thing off, do some origami and stick it back on. And it still looks floppy and nothing like in the piccie!

I've had one for 2yrs now and afraid it doesn't soften really, well mine certainly hasn't.
I know what you mean about trying to make it look tidy. I eventually got a knack of folding it under to make it look a bit better but it still ends up rather bulky. Best idea is to experiment with using the long straps to hold bits of it down.
sorry I cannot be of more help.

Mine's also 2 yrs old and quite "rigid". Quite like it that way, though - doesn't crowd ds out when I put it on the buggy if you understand what I mean.

Thanks - i was worrying that the folding thing was just me! The rigid thing I can get used to - DS certainly seems to like to try and grab it so the stiffer the better from that point of view.

DH wants us to buy one of these but I was a bit put off by the price. Do they work? And are they worth it? ATM, I'm faffing around with a parasol.

We've only had ours for one summer and ours hasnt' softned either, I think that it's jsut the way it is. Agree that you just need to experiment with it to figure out how best to have it on your pram/buggie. Doesn't look great but does a really good job.

Corrie, I think that these are better than parasols as you don't have to keep faffing about to keep the sun of baby. As it was designed in NZ and they are very sun aware there, I think that they would know how to make a really good sun protection product. I also think that as you can potentially use it everyday for the next 3 - 4 months then it's worth the money.

Thanks very much. Have seen another thread saying it's a good thing, so will invest.
