New pushchair or not?

I guess I'd like some votes on this one! My son's just snapped the hood brackets on his Graco Citisport (the first model, bought 1999) and so can't use a raincover. Grandpa repaired one bracket last year but they've really had it now. At that time we were going abroad and needed another buggy urgently so bought a Maclaren Daytripper. Then a few months later my son started to hate it and used his Citisport again, till now.

Now, my dilemma is, where the Daytripper has been stored in the shed its gone mega-mouldy. Son says he'll use it if we clean it but it's not all that brilliant to push, especially as his nursery is up a steep hill. My son is 3 in March, and not a keen walker. Do we (a) clean (yuk!) the Daytripper and use that or (b) buy the Kingswood 3-wheeler that I've seen on special offer?? All comments welcomed!

I would personally use this as an excuse to get your ds out of pushchairs. Encourage him to walk, perhaps by extending daily walks bit by bit. Again a reward at the end might be nice. How about flashing light trainers - my kids love to see the lights flash as they walk.
Alternatively there ae some very cheep umbrella buggies on the market and you obviously wont need it to last for long.

MandyD, it depends I think on whether you are buuying it just for this son, or whether you plan more, if so go ahead and get the 3 wheeler.

Well, I decided I couldn't justify the expense of a new pushchair at the moment so spent yesterday cleaning the Daytripper with a bottle of mould/mildew spray, a steam cleaner, a packet of washing powder, a scrubbing brush and a spray of Febreeze. Doesn't look too bad now but it still smells like the basement of a flooded camping shop!

My son was quite happy to ride in it this morning to nursery as it looked like it was going to rain. I'd forgotten how nasty it was to push though! I'm not planning any more children, I just really fancied using a 3 wheeler for a while!
