Skincare recommendations

I need a complete new skin care regime- cleanser, toner, moisturiser and exfoliator. Can anyone receommend something that is really good for stubborn spots please? Can be an expensive brand, am at the point where I am willing to try anything. Since I had dd 9 months ago, apparently my skin still thinks it's a teenager

I have just started using a range called Temple Spa.
I bought it after going to one of those home party things and it really is good stuff. It was created by the lady who founded Virgin Vie and it uses natural products in.
Apparently Simon Cowell and Victoria Beckham use it.

I have the dual act cleanser, the toner and I realy want the moisturiser but its £30 so am waiting for that one.

Best stuff in the whole wide world is Liz Earle - all natural and organic with essential oils etc - can be ordered online or by phone - her Cleanse and Polish cleanser will give you a whole new skin! - I had a facial with a very well-known facialist in london after using the liz earle stuff and she couldn't believe how clean my skin was - I used to work in the beauty/modelling business and cannot recommend this highly enough! The other bonus is that it won't break the bank to buy - most expensive is not necessarily best -

I second liz earle. I've used loads of different stuff and this is the best value and result - it's like Eve Lom but a fraction of the price.

I can even got without foundation these days!

Another vote for Liz Earle, everyone I recommend it to ends up using it regularly. She also now does a facial scrub and I think a teenager-y product for probelms skins (I think)

I didn't think the cleanser was all that fabulous, compared to the Eve Lom I had been using, and the moisturiser and sunscreen didn't impress me either. However, I think my skin is a lot drier than it used to be, not least because I swim (with my head under water) a couple of times a week.

Oh thanks everyone! Been away from pc and come back to lots of recommendations Do you think I would be able to get samples before buying? Tis ages since spent lots on face stuff, want to get it right.

MI - I find the cleanser average but then I have very few problems with my skin so I find all cleansers average. I love her moisturiser though it's the only one I've ever been happy with (dry/sensitive), never tried the sun cream but the body wash I cannot do without, it the one product I use ever day and really hate running our or it. It has no chemical detergents and is the only thing which doesn't dry arms out. I have mild excema on arms which has gone completely since using it and can be used on baby's skin. Body creme is also good.

threelittlebabies - you can buy a try me pack for about £10 from her website I think. What are you looking for I might have some samples lying around?

Am also not particularly impressed with LE's claims to be 'natural'; she lists the natural ingredients but not all the ingredients, IRCC.

I really rate Clarins - my skin is much better since I became a regular Clarins user.

How do you know what LE doesn't list MI? It doesn't really bother me as I choose on performance not whats in it but I'm interested.

I don't know what it doesn't list. I do know that it lists only 'active ingredients' on the website. No indication of the whole set of ingredients.

I think I might send off for a full list of ingrediants just for the hell of it. Do they have to list all the ingrediants on the packaging? Is it like food labelling, I'm not sure how it works?

Under EU regs they have to, I think.

Bottom line is that I didn't like it all that much .

three little babies I dont think liz earle will be any good for you because its very moisturising. I have the cleanser and it smells great but the moisturisers gave me spots and blackheads.

I think its trial and error as to what suits your skin. Very expensive I know ! You dont need to get a whole range either.Get the cleanser from one and the moisuriser from another id they are better for you .

Currently I love decleor which seems very pure . Even using the oils hasnt made me spotty.

If you can possibly afford to go for a facial then the therapist will give you loads of advice and probably some free samples. Or you can email the major brands and ask for samples.

I have just been sampling Liz Earle based on the rave reviews on here. I got the Summer Kit with the cleanse/tone/moisturise and eye repair.

At the moment I'm not bowled over but I wonder if I need to give it a week or two to see a difference.

Also I got the moisturiser for normal/combi but find my face is a bit oliy by the afternoon. Now it may be the hot weather, but I suspect I might need the light moisturiser.

Had previously been a Clarins fam, but can't afford the habit atm!

I didn't get on with Liz Earle either, the cleanser broke me out in horrendous spots and the Superbalm made my skin very red and felt like a burn. The ingredients are on the packaging and she definitely isn't as natural as she could be when you look at them closely. My skin was horrendous after my DS and the teenage spots I had avoided caught up with me big time which I think was hormonal. I haven't tried it as my spots had pretty much gone by the time I came across it.

another liz earle fan here,hate running out of the cleanser and moisturiser,skin goes to pot .My skin is quite sensitive as are my eyes and it's the only moisturiser that doesn't irritate.I have the toner but tbh I can't be bothered with toner,pefer water.
