I HAVE A BUGGYPOD, AND QUITE FRANKLY THEY'RE *%$£!!

Hmmmm, I am not impressed with my new buggypod.Angry
I recieved my buggypod on Saturday, and after fitting it, and my 22 month old riding on it for 20 minutes, the brackets started coming loose.
DH has fiddled and tightened this and that, but still, it is a shockingly bad fitting piece of equipment.

So after thinking my eldest may be too heavy, I put my younger baby in(7 months old), but again the fittings came loose, and worse-the actual seat began to bow outwards.
Not safe in my opinion.

I have a Maclaren stroller, and was told both by the shop I ordered from, and from buggypod.com that it was perfectly suitable for use with it.

Another thing that I wasn't aware of, was the fact that it is only built for occasional use.
I can't understand the point of occasional use if it is only built for children up to 3 years old.

Still, this is just my opinion. Thought I'd let you know....

is that one of the wierd seat things that attaches on the side of your buggy?

There was thread about these awhile ago and I said pretty much exactly what you've just said....they looked to flimsy to me.

Anyway, hope you sort it out but on the same toke I love being rightGrin

i was going to get one and opted instead for a maclaren rally as i needed to fold down quick and set up quick outside nursery and shop didn't stock intime for me to check out the pod's fold down thing. Anyway the other day saw some poor soul with twins and a littleun in the pod so asked how she found it.

she was on her second as the wheel went on the first. it didn't look substantial and i'm not surprised to hear your comments. they said in their opinion it needed one more wheel to give proper support.

Well, I'm not suprised that people go through more than one, I've used mine once, and have had enough already. The wheel screw kept unscrewing itself(don't ask me how.)

It's not than it's flimsy as such, I just feel the manufacturers could've made a little more effort where fittings are concerned.
Also, they say it folds flush with the side of the pushchair, but it doesn't, it sort of hangs there, looking out of place.

I think we're going to go for a Marco sky instead.....blimey, this two children lark is costing me a packet!

I assume you're going to return it for a refund> Sounds like it's not fit for its purpose!

bluebear · 05/06/2006 17:26

I had one - also checked with manufacturer and supplier that it should fit my buggy - dh (an engineer) took several attempts to attach it in a stable manner - and although it was fine on perfectly level ground, we realised that if we went over a bump so one of the buggy wheels was slightly higher than the other, the whole buggy would flip over!
It was returned to the supplier and they gave me a full refund.
Such a shame, as it's such a good idea.

PandaG · 05/06/2006 17:41

I am really sad to read this, as saw it in a catalogue and thought it a really good idea. I am a childminder and had considered getting one for occasional use, but don't thinbk I will bother now, unless they iron out the problems

Looks far too flimpsy for me. My Litaf Seat2Go on the other hand is fantastic. It's a buggyboard/seat combined. It's also a lot cheaper than the buggypod!!
