I've never shopped with them before because so much of it is expensive, but my mum uses them and got me a baby sleeping bag which is lovely. So I thought I'd use her product code and get a pair of dungarees and a top for ds. The service is useless though! They took a week before they even told me that the dungarees are out of stock (a week, I can get a dvd from cd-wow in Hong Kong in 5 days delivered!!) so they emailed me about the dungarees, I said I would still have the top I had ordered anyway, which arrived today in the wrong colour!! I phoned them us (and to their credit the customer service number was answered straight away without a queue) only to be told they automatically changed the colour when the blue went out of stock to white. Why would I want a white cotton hoodie for a 3-6 month baby that is going to be trying carrots and having carrot sick?! White?!

Anyway rant over!! thanks for listening!

Ahh yes, with you on this one I'm afraid. Their shops are equally useless. DH bought some new bed linen for our bed last summer and was told it would have to be ordered in. When we finally got it we only got part of the order and ended up waiting nearly a month for the valance (plain white) and nearly three months for a pair of white pillow cases. In the end we were sent 4 pillowcases and they forgot to charge us!! We also did get a nice candle from their shop staff as an apology but that was only after we complained bitterly. TBH I'm not sure I would shop thier again if they didn't have the item I wanted in stock as its too much hassle!

Yes, I too have had a bad experience with them and out of order stock. I love their children's pjs - they used to do really nice plain checked cotton traditional jammies that both DS and DD look gorgeous in. I ordered a load for DS and after about 4 WEEKS was just told they were out of stock! My strong recommendation is that if they don't have it in stock immediately, forget about.

The nearest shop to us in the one in Sloane Square. Last time I went there fully intending to buy a reasonably large amount of children's pjs I actually walked out as the service was so crap. The shop was empty other than one ghastly sloan-y type mother who was being served by two assistants, who were sort of walking about the store following her and carrying things that she pointed to. The other assistant declined to serve me (which entailed ringing up a number of pairs of pjs I had taken to the counter) as she had some folding to do. Angry Angry

I went into the shop once. And they were such snotty moos I left w/o buying anything.

ditto expat,I got given a look up and down like I wasn't worthy so walked out...bitch!

I ordered a nightie once and got pjs. at the time I assumed it was a mistake and couldn't be bothered to do anything about it. now I wonder if it was a deliberate substitution, in which case, they were taking the piss a bit. - hockeymum - some people are really into their white. dd didn;t wear anything else for about 6 months. people used to comment on it. I have no idea what planet I was on.

I went in fulling intending to spend some money, too.

But why patronise a place like that when John Lewis is just up the road? So is Debenham's and about a hundred other shops?

I don't know how they stay in business. There was no one else in the shop.

I spent a small fortune in their shop at Bicester yesterday. I only buy in the sale or from the outlet store, you cxan get some great bargains,

I think you've been unlucky as the St Albans store took back a silk eiderdown I'd had for ages that had started to split when you knelt on it, no receipt but full refund ( over £200) no questions asked.
