Can anyone recommend a good book for weaning at 6 months? Also can a baby this age go more or less straight on to finger foods or do you still have to go through the mush stage?

I used the Annabel Karmel books and found them pretty useful (usually on offer via Amazon). They give you an easy to understand idea of what foods give which vitamins etc.

I gave my dd pieces of Emmental cheese at 6mo and I think she also ate grapes without their skins as finger food. Bread is usually a hit and can be great for keeping them occupied when you're out and about Good luck!

My DD at 6 mths happily ate mashed not pureed things. Annabel Karmels recipes re excellent adn yummy for us big folks too. Get them enough tastes early on and they'll eat anything later on!
Good luck.

I would definitely recommend Gina Ford's Contented Little Baby Book of Weaning. My ds is 6 months and I've referred to the book so many times now. It has lots of good EASY recipes and clear guidelines on when to introduce different food.

Ok, I am a bit of a GF fan, but I'm certain most parents would find this book eases weaninfg worries.
