UNO is a great , easy to play anywhere card game, not too tedious for adults :)
I've heard good reports about Cranium (saving up for it)

Also we love Pass the Pigs (very small, portable, addictive and silly)

ScummyMummy · 14/05/2006 16:41

Mine are 7. Of the games they got for xmas from various well wishers I've found that battleships isn't bad and downfall is bearable but frustration is extremely, er, frustrating.

brimfull · 14/05/2006 16:42

rummicub is great,7 maybe a bit young unless they're a math whizz

Mousetrap
Cranium is very good but they might be a bit young for it - not sure if there is a kid's version

spykid · 15/05/2006 13:48

lots of kids versions of cranium
we have hullabaloo, ballon lagoon, and other i cant recall

PandaG · 15/05/2006 13:53

We love Cranium,, can play with children or just adults too. Triominoes is a harder take on dominoes, is more luck than skill. We have the children's version of Cluedo, and Ds 6 loves it. He also loves Mousetrap (but personally it drives me round the bend). We also play quite a few card games - 7s, beat your neighbour, and will soon teach DS cribbage - good for maths!

fullmoonfiend · 15/05/2006 16:06

was going to say don't get mousetrap - takes way longer to set up than you are actually playing it and by the time we've farted aroubd setting al the traps, any goodwill dh might have had has disappeared into a sea of swearwords :)

DD aged 10 has just discovered cards ...
