I have read all the previous threads abouts hoovers, and think I'm ready to order a Henry xtra,
Our house is extremely dusty, we have a dog and 3 children, anyone not recommend the henry ?
Also any recommendations for best place to order online please.

I've just had to condemn the dyson at the residential home I manage. The consensus from the team (mainly mums) was to buy a Henry - they all had them in their homes so guess they are pretty good. Also both the inpatient services (each probably the size of 2 x 4 bed houses) on the same site have henry's and are in constant use and to my knowledge are rarely replaced.

I've sent someone out to Argos today to buy the henry extra at £130 (10free bags inc) - not sure if this is the best price though we just have to use Argos as we have an account there.

Henry is the most popular commercial cleaning vacuum for a reason. Prices range from £80

All the builders I've ever known have used Henry's.

I don't know why I haven't got one, thinking about it!

oh, I have one at home but at work - theres too many people using it - it wasn't looked after very well i.e washing out filters etc. - Though maybe I just have a lazy team!

its still in a usuable condition just needs a bit of love and attention and a good clean! - aiming to do it up and sell it so we can but something for the garden project the clients have started.

Our Henry is coping fantastically with all the dust and rubbish our builders have created, plus DS (5) is in love with him and kisses him goodnight!
He was on special offer at Homebase about 4 weeks ago and cost £80. I couldn't find a better deal online, although there was an e-bay ex-demonstration model going for around the same price iirc.

zippitippitoes · 14/05/2006 13:14

you don't have to clean a henry..just abuse it and it carries on regardless

I've got a henry. They really do pick up grot very well but the downsides are.....
No 'onboard' tool storage so need to keep them under the sink or something.
Pretty back-breaking to push on a carpet (brilliant for flat floors mind you , they just glide)
They do take up a lot of room when you arent using them.I cant find a tidy way of storing the hose.
Hose doent reach all the way upstairs , and its really hard to balance a henry on the stairs.

On the plus side its a good price and its lovely to see him smiling!

Thankyou, so mostly positive then Smile.
