I'm looking for some nice wall picture/canvas' for my living room. We have a brown leather sofa & rustic furniture. I would like to brighten it up a bit. Anyone have any ideas please. Thanks alot

if you're not wanting art art, buy a ready-stretched canvas from The Works (cheap art materials / book shop) and some poster colours in the colours you fancy and make your own abstract like they do on Changing Rooms etc.
Is fun and not as cheesey as it sounds. And if it's rubbish, leave it to dry and have another go by painting over it.

Or buy a print of a painting you really like. Personally I like buying original art, particularly photography, but it's not cheap if you only want something to 'brighten it up'.

I bought some nice, large print fabric, made a big wooden frame and stretched the fabric around it.Secure it with a staple gun.

It looks really effective and eveyone asks where I bought it

The fabric type thing is all the rage in boutique type hotels & bars. Even Ikea have one. Can't find on their site to show you.
I did the buying a canvas & paints thing to make my own 'art' about 3 years ago they haven't seen the light of day yet. My muse hasn't inspired me yet [picasso emoticon] John Lewis had some lovely pieces that I thought 'I could do that'.
