Is it cool to use a bag-on-wheels?

DH has gone off with the car for the day,DS has gone off in his pram for the morning with grandparents so if I go shopping I will need to CARRY IT HOME ! I'm thinking that a bag-on-wheels would be just the thing but I've never seen anyone in a youngish age group using one. Does anyone on mumsnet use one?

there was a thread about \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=1012&threadid=40763&stamp=041229141402this} ages ago. there are a few links there about 'trendy' ones although some might be out of date by now

ha the old granny shopping bag debate rears its head again :-|

spacedonkey · 07/05/2006 11:31

by the way it was me that started that old thread and the photo is still there of me with my trolley! lol

When I was at school my parents did not have a car. I did O'level and A'level Home Economics, which meant I had to get all ingredients, serving bowls etc to school every week. i had a shopping trolley for this. So I considered myself a very trendy 16 year old at the time!

here you go - \link{http://www.rolser-novela.co.uk/4020/info.php?p=2&cat=16810\trendy!}

When I have a lot of files, books and papers to carry around at work, I am not too bothered whether I look cool, a bag on wheels helps save my back, my arms and even my feet.

pipo · 07/05/2006 11:55

WOW moomin I didn't realise such trendy bags existed! I'm going to get a cup of tea before I read the previous thread (209 messages!).Thanks for the link.

I use one. Nothing cool about slugging a bunch of carrier bags, especially the way they slice your fingers when heavily loaded.

lou33 · 07/05/2006 12:40

i still hate them

chonky · 07/05/2006 12:45

Spooky, I was chatting to my nan about this this morning, as I'd seen someone with a Rolser mountain bag in Tesco's and thought, hmmm...maybe I'd use one. Perhaps the fact that I was chatting about it with my nan says it all, but the Rolder ones really aren't bad!

well you could go for this \link{http://www.freemans.com/web/main/ProductDisplay.asp?An=0&N=0&Au=P_MasterItem&Nu=P_MasterItem&A=20E756_&catreqmedia=67EU&ordermedia=66EU&name=20percent&orderoffercode=DRFP&entry=1&colour=&catno=20E756&suffix=SX&size=&quantity=1\Lovely tartan effort} but this \link{http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=4501&productId=226792\Stripey one} is definatly cooler}

busybusybee · 08/05/2006 00:00

I have to admit it - I would like a cool and trendy patterned one of these :)

cataloguequeen · 08/05/2006 00:42

granny trollies eh?...they're just trying to make them more palatable note the ugly ones are much cheaper than the groovy ones...don't be fooled!!!

this reminds me of those carpet sweepers that my granmother had..they add a crappy motor and now they cost £30+ Grin
