we moving to a house with a bigger garden and i've really got my heart set on getting our boys a wooden climbing frame, with slide swing etc. Just found one in ELC with all the bits plus a firemans pole/rope ladder but it's 400 pounds. Can anyone recommend one that they have? Does this price sound about right? thanks in advance

lots on b & q website - you could compare their prices.

Don't know where you are based but \link{http://www.activetoy.co.uk/index.php\The Active Toy Company}
have a large range & you can go & play on them all!. We spent many a Sat. afternoon trampoling etc there :) (Nr Newbury)

I've been looking at the same thing & that seems about right I reckon you certainly need to pay over £300 to get something fairly robust & big enough that they won't grow out of within a year or so. Some of them are fantastic but £2000+ for some of them is a bit excessive Shock
We looked at the Fort playhouse in B&Q just for nosiness & it's so thin & unstable looking I wouldn't consider anything as flimsy. DD is very lightweight but the planks were bowing under her weight. B&Q had a terrific sale last year, a few people will remember the frantic threads as they were restocked but I missed out on all the ones I wanted. Don't know if everyone got what they ordered.
DH reckons he could build a good one but I'd like it before she's 10 (she's 4 btw) Grin

Have a look at www.dhleisureandgarden.com. We got a combination from them last year - wavy slide with 2 swings and a ladder with a fort platform and swing rope for about £600.00. It's really sturdy and the kids love it - they are 5 yo and 3 yo. The slide is plastic resin - quite hard. They always do deals at this time of year and we can add a climbing face to ours which we'll do when the children are older. We have also put a sandpit in the base.
