Hair curler question.

Hi ladies, I have always found this site so useful for tips and advice so I was hoping you could help. I was wondering, how easy are hair curlers to use and could anyone recommend a good hair curler that isn't too expensive. I have a special day coming up and I want to do something different with my hair. My hair by the way shoulder length and quite thin.

Thanks in advance xxx

I remember my mum using curlers, and it did seem quite effective and lasted all evening, but I prefer the braun gas hair tongs.

Do you mean curling tongs or heated rollers or old fashioned curlers?

Sorry, curling tongs

Braun gas fuelled ones are good (Ive had these and get good results). I get even better results from using heated curling rods, The bendy type that are pencil shaped with a foam covering but have metal inside, but I cant remember which brand these are. I used to use old fashioned sponge rollers too.

Tell me what you want it to look like and I will advise. I have long hair, and sometimes curl it, I also used to do it in my teens.

Hi,
I have shoulder length hair and it's quite thin. When i got married i had it normal curlers and sat under the blower for half hour and a load of spray which worked ok, but then for our party my friend tonged it with thin curling tongs. Think they lasted long, make sure you use a heat protective spary tho as they get hot. Better to go thinner i think as the curl will last longer. Ringlet style and do it a couple of hours before event so has time to drop slightly.
Hope it helps

Also best to use tongs on slightly dirty hair; freshly washed hair will drop quicker.

thanks every one
